If you are emotionally compromised, you are not fit to captain the Starship Enterprise need to step back, take a break, and then return when you're ready.

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

And then there is me: I've been trying to get both of my characters out there a little more; I'm not sure if it shows, especially since these last couple of weeks have been murder (I'm gearing up for finals, and all). My only crit here is just on activity--characterization is just fine and dandy!

What I do worry about is how hard it can be to develop CR with your characters when they don't appear to tag around much, and I often see tags that are delayed anywhere from 18-36 hours. Backtagging I'm totally okay with and all, but when tags take 3 days without warning it gets hard to still feel invested in the thread, or feel like it will go anywhere that's worth waiting a week and a half to find it dropped ):

Posting-wise you're fine...I just worry about tags. I know RL is a factor and all that, and I have seen your plurks about it so I can understand that. I just wanted to bring it to your attention ;;

I wanted to take a second to speak up about how impressed I am with your skill in vocal variety. It really always boggles my mind to look at your list in full and realize they're all played by the same person, because I think of them as all separate entities. Those whose canons I do know, which is about half your list, are spot on to an uncanny degree (and I'm amazed you've managed to hold on to Sister so long and continue to have her be so entertaining). Those whose canon I don't know are still a joy to interact with, and you make me feel as if I do know the character.

Plus, OOC, you are always level headed, willing to help people, and easy to approach.

When I think of Paradisa, I tend to think of you as part of the very heart of it.

Okay let me just ramble for a moment.

I've been really disappointed in my own activity and participation in this game as of late. Personal life has been busy, yes, but for the amount of hours I spend online, I don't feel my own activity has met my own expectations. My characters need to get out more -- especially Cassie. I need to socialize with other players more, because I feel like I'm in a self-made bubble. I need to stop overworking myself OOC and underworking myself IC.

So I will be trying to work on that, because I miss the days where I was a really good reliable player who had more time to play out character story-lines and stuff. I plan to work on that by:

a) not spreading myself thin on moderating stuff anymore,
b) taking a hiatus from running major plots (specifically ones with a heavy narrative that require lots of ongoing TLC) because I am burned out as hell.
c) possibly dropping Cassie? I've been hemming and hawing over this for months, going on bursts where I feel like I'm totally on top of things and then slipping back down to feeling like I just need to rip off the band-aid and drop her. Then I think a canon-update might revitalize things a bit. Then I remember the CR I have with her and the CR I want to make and I don't know.
d) commenting around more.
e) plotting more character stuff.

Where do I need improvement? Tagging around? Backtagging? Establishing more/deeper CR?

I don't have any character specific crit to offer you, but regarding possibly dropping Cassie I wold hold off until you have had a chance to see if taking a step back from major plots and too much modding stuff changes how you feel. Dropper's remorse is never fun, nor is picking up a character after the fact and having to start them from scratch. I have a feeling you might have been planning to hold off on this anyway, but I just thought I'd mention it. =]

I can't offer much for the others, but you really don't need to worry about getting Booth's voice wrong. I love the show, and I love reading Booth's posts because I can hear his voice so well. Especially when he's tagging back and forth with Bones, but the rest of the time, too, he makes me smile when I stalk him because he's just like he always was, just...learning to cope with the whole 'magical castle' thing.

It has seemed like Colette's been really far removed from everything, because of Joshua being crazy and her being at the outpost, which really limits CR opportunities. I don't think she's boring at all. I just think that, the longer she's that far from the castle, the harder it is to make new CR. However, I'll admit I haven't really been full-out stalking all of that, so it's possible those circumstances have/are changing.

Poor Maya. I love that girl so much. She's one of the main reasons I'm so hesitant to drop Mat. :( But I will hopefully find other ways to get CR with her.

Nanako is getting hugged and hair-ruffled forever and ever.

And I... haven't seen Yukari around enough to give feedback, so I'll stop there.

No specific character needs this time around. The only thing I can really ask for at this point is honest critique on my portrayal of Vriska, as she is my newest muse from my newest fandom. Not going to lie, this fandom is intimidating, people!

Notes: Abel has... gone through a lot AAH. Recent months have been extremely hard on him, and I'm trying to find a rational way for him to work through it without expounding too much emo on the public at large. (Hence, most of his hermit-esque angsting is handwaved or takes place in closed logs/threads etc, and he's been continuing to behave normally, which is typical of him to do!). I'm hoping to fix some of this (get rid of the additional nanomachines, primarily, since I've been handwaving everything in relation to them anyway AAH) through a canon bump sometime soon! I think he'll be much happier for it and given some time away from Paradisa to separate himself from the recent-ness of the Slenderman fiasco and Cain's loss. Until then, he'll probably keep trying to keep his whipped puppy faces behind closed doors like... a fail idek flkjsdf and show a cheerful face. I AM SO WORRIED about the balance between his derp/srs, especially considering all the stress the environment has dumped on him lately. If you have any resolutions or advice, or any suggestions, please -- I'm totally all ears! /fears

He's not a social character, and he doesn't seem to attract much new CR when I do open posts with him, but does it seem like there is more I could be doing to get him interacting with people outside of his 'friends?' Are people getting sick of his creeperishness? Does anyone have any sort of problem with him at all?

Stuff: He was suffering and floundering for a while there when Iroh kind of idled, a bunch of his budding CR left, and he was hard to play because of it. I'm hoping that with my lighter character load, and with Iroh definitely gone now, I can give him the attention he deserves and get him worked back into things. So... any advice beyond that? Are people still interested in him? Anyone have any gripes with anything I've been doing with him so far? etc.


It breaks my heart, but The Weighted Companion Cube and Sakaki will be leaving soon, once I wrap up a few loose ends. I love them to death, but I need to cut down on my character count with the new job, and any comments or thoughts on them are still welcome.

Just so you know, I adore your Zuko so much. asdklghsad I LOVE AVATAR, and characters from that cannon are so hard to play as lone cannon warriors, but you're handling it so well. What I love the most is that he's angry, and he flies off the handle, and he's just so full of emotion. You're doing it really really well, and I just love playing with him.

Notes: He wasn't around much for the Slender-plot, so I've been a little worried about his level of involvement when it comes to game-wide plots. I try not to overdo it or push for what might be unrealistic, but I also don't want to look closed off to CR because of that. And... he's been making a lot of mistakes and getting less comfortable with things he was pretty apathetic about before. Hopefully it all seems IC and not too fail for the sake of failing! I feel like I should balance more, but it's been a lot of rolling with the punches. I'm always open to suggestions or things you'd like to see more of...!

For Aradia, what she does and doesn't know, along with her objectives, are kind of vague right now. So in playing her, I'm kind of wavering back and forth between the fun-loving girl determined to make something great of her new life, and the long-doomed girl struggling with both her old fatalism and her new uncertainty. I hope I am balancing these two sides of her well enough.
Also, I'd like to hear from the Homestuck cast on what you think of her relationship with your character. AM I DOIN IT RITE?

As for Ivan, I... I'm worried he's a little bland? I mean, it makes his interactions with wacky characters fun, but he doesn't take much initiative or risks, or start anything, or fkdalsfks. I-is there anything you think he should be doing that he's not? Do you like him in spite of the blandness? Heck, am I wrong and he's not bland? I-idek.

I'm really enjoying Aradia so far. She might be kind of a mysterious character right now, but what we've seen of her God Tier self and her character while she was alive, you've been doing a great job capturing what makes her appealing: the vivacity and energy. And Kanaya might develop a redrom crush here, ooh, careful.

I do think that you should continue playing things kind of close to the chest with her, a benevolent figure but one who keeps things a little foggy perhaps on purpose for the others. With the Maid of Time you actually have a good IC justification for this too that you can swing, that if they get out of this with memories intact she won't have caused any doomed timelines inadvertently.

Really, I think you should just keep it up. ♥

I just wanted to say that I am loving Karkat. I'm honestly not a huge fan of Homestuck. I tried to get into it and just couldn't understand what I was reading. But I really like some of the individual chars and I'm so impressed by Para's players at making a very difficult canon accessible. I think you balance his anger and age and abrasiveness perfectly and it makes him a joy to tag off of.

i've gotten crit about needing to get out there and tag more, so i'm trying to work on that with certain characters. i've also gotten crit about Julian getting more consequences for his actions, so i've been working on that with my CR too. but is there anything you want me specifically to work on? like, getting better at back-tagging, not apping and dropping, etc. character-wise especially?

PLEASE stop using Adam Lambert and Ellen Page as PBs. I can't take Julian seriously anymore, and Ellen Page looks nothing like Jess. They both have plenty of source material to icon that you don't need these PBs that look nothing like your characters.

Just as a note for all of your characters -- please, please make better use of contacting muns and asking for permissions before doing stuff. For example, I've seen a lot of threads where Dainn wanted to enter someone's head or something along those lines, and it's really important that you respect the no godmodding rule and ask the mun of that character through PM/IM/email before doing so, even if you're pretty sure they'll be cool with it.
