While the staff highly encourages everyone to participate, only comment if you are capable of giving and taking potentially harsh concrit in a mature, level-headed manner. Assume good faith at all times. Crit is meant to be resolved, not "won". Give mutual respect for each other's work and ideas. Aggressiveness creates unproductive stress and conflict. If you are emotionally compromised, you are not fit to captain the Starship Enterprise need to step back, take a break, and then return when you're ready.

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

As for Abel, you've had so much to juggle with him and I am constantly amazed and awed by the balance and thought you put into his character. His grief and guilt is realistically handled, with the derpiness making a wonderful mask without overwhelming or belittling what he's going through.

Plots that are as grand and elaborate as final take-down fights need much more planning than just a week. It needs time for people to consider how heavily they want to be involved, and see if they can arrange to be there when it happens.

ALSO so that no one else plans a loss/event around the same time and we wind up with too much all at once.

I just wanted to say that I am loving Karkat. I'm honestly not a huge fan of Homestuck. I tried to get into it and just couldn't understand what I was reading. But I really like some of the individual chars and I'm so impressed by Para's players at making a very difficult canon accessible. I think you balance his anger and age and abrasiveness perfectly and it makes him a joy to tag off of.

I love and have always loved your Koltira. You pretty much made him, and made him on the LJ scene, and they traits you've emphasized and brought to life are the things that keep him close to my heart and make him real. And Liadrin is really okay with this, too. <333

Quorra is everything that is bright and beautiful and wonderful in this world. There's a reason why it makes Clu so jealous, and why she has so many friends-- she's just as much of a shining beacon as she was in the film, and she's that enigmatic, energetic creature that people just respond to. I don't know how she puts up with Clu and Rinzler, but you play it off so well that it's believable and understandable, and proves just how strong she really is.

That's legit! I've really noticed it myself lately, too. I felt like I was doing better earlier in the month, but finals hit and... the rest, as they say, is history.

That's a great plan, though. I usually try and make sure I'll have an hour of free time, but I'm so slow at tagging... sdfjkldf A couple of hours would really be the best. I'll do what I can to respond to threads a little faster. ♥

I would really love to see Alice around more. Maybe exploring some of the odder elements of the castle, or comparing how normal it is compared to Underland or...something. She's seemed really quiet, which is sad because her first few posts were just fantastic and I'd love to see her around more. But that could just be me being selfish and wanting a chance to throw someone at her. :>

I might not know too much about Jamie, but his personality comes through clear and strong, and it's something that Liadrin feels she can really respond to. He seems to have all the right emotions in all the right places, so you get many, many win points from me. <3

Rinzler is so. hard. I do not know how you manage to play him off so well, but I am so glad that you do, because Clu needs that steady hand at his side to keep him from falling off the deep end...even if it means just enduring his tantrums with that practiced patience.

Yes, good points, especially with planning to not have other events/losses interfere, and better time to let people figure out how/when to be involved, and how heavily.

I have company arriving any minute so...I'm going to see if I can avoid tl;dr and get this out. >.>

1 - characterization: You are lovely. Amazing. Wonderful. Fun. Don't stop.

2 - activity: You already know this is an issue, so I won't harp. I'd love to see you keep all your chars, but it's a balance thing. You're the only one who knows what you can handle. I will say this is very much countered by your willingness to backtag. I'm willing to deal with slow tags in nearly all cases as long as there's backtagging.

3 - text permissions: Eh... I don't think they're necessary. Yes, people have been whining, but I think most of us are aware that the permissions posts are there and that you guys are more than respectful of what people want. The fact that Homestuck is a fad is dragging this up more often than it would normally, and I think posting monthly or bi-monthly might only aggravate the problem...which is silly, because you guys are fantastic and our community is a pretty tolerant one. I think you're okay.

4 - Clarity: This honestly is an issue I had been having with Dave (and Homestuck in general. Not just you). I'd tried tagging him a few times and I usually ended up giving up because I couldn't figure out what was being said. With the plot, however, things were MUCH smoother and now I feel like I have a base to work from. I don't think you need to clarify, but links might be a good idea if you know they're being particularly confusing in a tag. Just a thought.

Overall? You are awesome. Keep on being awesome.

I honestly never liked Laura in the comics. Granted, I haven't been keeping up with Marvel at all for a while now and was always more of a Nori fan, but I really enjoyed interacting with her even if it was relatively brief (but that was only because we both play socially awkward types and there was nothing more to talk about without forcing it). You are a very quick tagger and I've enjoyed reading your threads/your take on her. I'm sure she develops into a character I possibly would have liked if I stuck with the comic, but I just wanted to mention~

I'm glad to hear you're back, and I hope things perk up more for you soon. I've missed talking to you and playing with you.

And that said, I was hoping we could rekindle Damian and Uru's relationship eventually. I know he was a big source of stress for her, though, so if you need time to get her back on the good track before Damian eventually goes crawling back, I can wait for that (if you're still game, of course.)

That and I'd dig it if Cassie and Aki could hang more. I know I can be really flaky with her sometimes but I'd really like to try to improve that, as I really like their friendship.

Laura's been developing a lot in the comics. She's gotten more... Normal, I guess? Right now Gambit is helping her search out her past and blah blah blah, so I'm sure she'll get even better with her emotions and relationships. :)

IN OTHER NEWS, she always kicks my butt in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. So her awesome factor is not in question. I'm liking the fact that I can enjoy a character I didn't necessarily like in canon. It makes me want to go and give the comics another read through to see if I have a different take the second time around.
