As of Saturday morning, the penguins and polar bears have moved out of the castle. The icy furniture has been slowly thawing until now, when the ice is completely gone. Watch out for slippery puddles! Here's hoping you took pictures of that gorgeous sky, because the aurora lights have now retired for the season. The snow, on the other hand, will linger a bit longer.

With Christmas just a day away, it's also time for the castle to give back to its residents. Paradisa will give each resident one gift this holiday season. What will it give? That's up to you!


You may give your character one (1) item/small companion from home.
-OR-
You may give your character a free loss change, no strings attached.


Here are a few simple guidelines to follow when deciding on your characters' gifts:

1. The item in question may not be larger than a motorcyle. This means no large-scale animals, robots, or mansions.
   
2. If a weapon is chosen, it may not be a weapon capable of mass destruction. Blades and handguns with sentimental meaning are fine, but let's avoid doomsday devices and the like.
   
3. Companions may be small animals/creatures or mounts. They may not be specific people, types of people, or sentient beings.
   
4. If you choose to utilize the loss change, your character will regain whatever the castle initially took from them. However, it will take something else in its place. How they discover this is at your own discretion.
   
5. Loss changes must still be approved by the staff. Post your requests in the thread below and a staff member will review them.

Wrong journal but I'd like to do a loss change for Nora. She'd regain the ability to touch red paper and lose the ability to sew.

I'd like to change Dhaos' loss from his current one to the color and/or pattern of any cloak or coat he wears changing whenever someone looks at him.

If that's not acceptable, I have backup ideas.

If possible, I'd like to change Phoenix's loss from memories of Larry Butz to memories of his mentor, Mia Fey.

Since we don't have a Larry now, his current loss is kind of moot--it never comes up! Losing memories of Mia Fey, however, would take out a major chunk of inspiration from his life, and affect the interactions he has with most of his current castmates, too.

I'd like to change Sasuke's loss if this comment isn't too late.

His current loss is the ability to use any weapon so if it is possible I was thinking his new loss could be that he can't avoid or ignore people? Does that work? If not I can think of something else.

Is it possible for Pepper to get the Arc reactor that she took out of Tony's chest and then later placed into the display case, which he then later actually ended up using?

I ask because a] it's not technically hers and b] her canon point is way beyond this and c] it's a unique item that can't be wished for.

The reason I ask, is because there could be times where having a spare arc reactor could be handy and even if it is an outdated model, she'd like to know that he has a spare.


And second question - I had talked to Valerie about Harmony's gift from the castle and she said she would talk to the other mods about it and I'm just wondering if anything ever came of that? If you aren't familiar with it I can PM you.

I've been thinking about changing Simon's loss for a while, since without River, his current one (forgetting how he broke her out of the Academy and what's wrong with her brain) his entire motivation is gone. Anybody who knows canon have any ideas? I'm thinking of a few but I'm open for more suggestions...

-His ability to do surgery (he'd have to have some kind of physical consequence happen if he tries, like his hands shake so badly he can't hold a scalpel)
-Losing some kind of other medical knowledge/ability
-Memories of his parents (including the fact that they disowned him)
-Memories of the events of a certain episode or even the movie ("Safe", when he first found acceptance, or remembering that two of his crewmates are dead and that he got together with Kaylee... lots of possibilities here)
