Happy Holidays!

As of Saturday morning, the penguins and polar bears have moved out of the castle. The icy furniture has been slowly thawing until now, when the ice is completely gone. Watch out for slippery puddles! Here's hoping you took pictures of that gorgeous sky, because the aurora lights have now retired for the season. The snow, on the other hand, will linger a bit longer.

With Christmas just a day away, it's also time for the castle to give back to its residents. Paradisa will give each resident one gift this holiday season. What will it give? That's up to you!

You may give your character one (1) item/small companion from home.
-OR-
You may give your character a free loss change, no strings attached.

Here are a few simple guidelines to follow when deciding on your characters' gifts:

  1. The item in question may not be larger than a motorcyle. This means no large-scale animals, robots, or mansions.
  2. If a weapon is chosen, it may not be a weapon capable of mass destruction. Blades and handguns with sentimental meaning are fine, but let's avoid doomsday devices and the like.
  3. Companions may be small animals/creatures or mounts. They may not be specific people, types of people, or sentient beings.
  4. If you choose to utilize the loss change, your character will regain whatever the castle initially took from them. However, it will take something else in its place. How they discover this is at your own discretion.
  5. Loss changes must still be approved by the staff. Post your requests in the thread below and a staff member will review them.

You may use this post to sort out your characters gifts. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.

Happy Holidays! May you and yours have a fun and safe one!

His cloak is an item of great significance to him in that he has worn it (or at least replicas of it since it's debatable one would survive more than a few decades of wear and tear) constantly for hundreds of years. It has been with him through time, two wars, ten years of imprisonment, and even the final battle with the protagonists of his canon. To have something happen to one's oldest possession, even something that would simply be exceedingly annoying (and quite probably headache inducing considering his enhanced vision), is a bit stressful and forces him out of his comfort zone. The effect spreading to any cloak or coat he wears is simply a measure to prevent him from simply getting a replica or a similar article of clothing as a way to get around this loss.

As for why the color/pattern change rather than just getting rid of his ability to wear them altogether, I wanted to do something a bit humorous that would be more likely than the latter idea to possibly spark some CR building.
