ACTIVITY CHECK DISCUSSION
Hey guys!
So there's been some confusion and disagreement about what should/should not count for activity check, what is counted where, etc. So this is a post where we'd like to discuss revamping the activity check system with you! Once we can get a clear idea of what everyone feels is fair, it will make it easier for us to have a clear system where everyone understands the activity requirements desired of each character in Paradisa.
SECTIONS:
What do you think should count for a post?
What should constitute thread "size"?
What should constitute comment "quality"?
How much should the mods be responsible for? The players?
How should a thread on a log be judged?

Looking at community averages, I'd say about three threads of seven comments each should be equivalent to a post. That'd be similar to having at least three people respond to a post you make, then threading with each one of them for seven comments from you (fourteen comments in total), which makes for a post with the equivalent of forty-two (42) comments. This is at times more than one post can even see!

I see this amount as the required need at many other games and it's helped out many a player. I say if someone's active in comments only or their character is more likely to comment than post, this also gives them a good way to meet AC without panicking over post ideas. If someone gets by with a lot of threads, I don't mind, because it shows they're still interested in the game and everyone in it. I mean, they're obviously active, so why not?

I know from talking with folks that sometimes, posting is the one thing they are not inspired to do, OOCly, or ICly, or because the stars were in Jupiter's house this last month, whatever the reason.
Heck, you can pass AC on threads alone. Six threads of seven comments each, in different entries (most likely, but may be threadjacked and thus also in the same entry) is a wonderful, beautiful thing to see.

If it's IC/people are having fun, then that's all I care about. Anything else can be hashed out friendly enough if it ever has to be.

I mean obviously we're still going to need posters and big discussions to keep the game rolling, but as many people already pointed out there are some characters that make it difficult to ICly post open things in the main comm.

Seriously. I either post a log or post link in my AC and always, always have threads. For me, it encourages me to tag out and keep a thread going. And I feel like, at the end of the month, my tagging in someone else's post is going to count for my participation in the game.
Honestly, all of this. Sometimes I lack in post ideas - or I can't make it open, so I don't want to post something that's just filtered (personal preference) - and I find myself more inspired by other people's posts.
