Welcome home, everyone! You're back in Cair Paradisa! IN THE DUCK POND, SOAKING WET. AND IT'S STILL THUNDERSTORMING. IN YOUR TACKY TOURIST CLOTHES.

PLOT OVER.

Thank you so so so much for  making this plot so fun; participation was awesome. I'll edit in rough numbers soon, for the lulz.

Any thoughts? How did you guys feel about having a lot more mass posts, instead of the usual anything-goes set-up? Concerns? Constructive criticism? General dinosaur love?

Again, much love goes to Mimi, for bringing forward the Jurassic Park suggestion in the first place, and for letting me take it. It was fun.

Good plot! Much fun! I could have dealt with another day or two easily, though.

Mass Posts = GREAT CR opportunities! I loved them! Though yesterday and today it just felt like, BAM BAM BAM with the time spacing between each. A little "stay on the ball" time wise, but still, if you got the time on your hands, great, fun ideas.

SURPRISE!DINOSAUR tags were probably what kept the mass posts from going stale, and it kept all the characters on their feet. Plus, they were all were either extra lulzy, or extra HOLY SHIT. They were fun!

The best part, for me, had to be the Drive/T-Rex posts. Aside from the awesome group my character was thrown into, it was nice to be able to "interact" with the T-Rex.

I forgot I edited this initially to say again. xD

I think the amount of mass-posts there were was a little crazy for the short four-day time frame (I missed a bunch of them and it felt a bit hurried) and I don't really like shuffling through all the hundreds of comments on each post to see what I can reply to.

But on the flip-side, it's a good way to make sure things get done in the plot instead of everyone going "...uh what now? D:" and it's still a good alternative way to get CR since characters will feel inclined to communicate just because they're in the same room.

So I'm really just talking circles. X'D I guess I liked the posts, but would have liked them a little more spread out, perhaps? They would have worked fine if the plot had gone on for a couple more days, I think.

Also, cheers to the fun plot in general. ♥ I'm sad I got distracted and busy for a lot of it! THE LULZ WERE GRAND, THE DINOS WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER.

The plot was tons of fun. Thank you for it, to you guys! I thought the mass posts were a good idea for this; it made it easier to try to join in wherever and keep track/not miss any posts.

[identity profile] randomtology.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I really loved the mass posts because they made things way more chaotic and easier to get random CR - but I guess pace a bit more with them so people who are busy with school and work have a chance to jump in too? Sometimes it felt like if you were a few hours late, you were SOL in regards to doing stuff with the dinosaurs (which were the main part of the fun of the posts).

But besides that, it was an awesome plot. I LOVED THE DINOSAURS. ♥

REX ;;

My childhood. ♥

It was an amazing amount of fun and left a lot of opportunity for loads of CR, which is always a blast. Thanks, Mimi! And thanks to you guys for making it happen.

Absolutely loved it. :)

Question! Do objects of power/weapons come back in the lake, or will they find them in their rooms or something?

[identity profile] palpable.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
I just loved it so much. Lots of action, CR-building, lulz, and craziness. I mostly loved how everyone just got talking and that the dinosaurs were something to get them all riled up.

So yeah mainly the CR-building is what made me so happy. Thank you lovely ladies for the amazing plot! AND MIMI YOU ARE A CUTEY THANK YOU!! ♥

I can honestly say that I had the most fun with this plot. The Park Drive/T-Rex part will ALWAYS ALWAYS be my favorite, though COMPIES EVERYWHERE takes a very close second because oh my god seriously.

I don't know how you did it without going crazy, but seriously, you deserve an award or something for keeping the plot going and playing all the dino NPCs. You are seriously one of the most dedicated people ever. Thank you so much for keeping up and popping into threads. ♥

[identity profile] anzu-less.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
This plot was just... so amazing. You guys just took it, and transformed it beyond anything I could even imagine. You guys deserve so much props, you really are the most amazing mods I've ever come across in any game ever.

Ahem~ Now that I'm done fangirling :P I really enjoyed the open posts. In particular the park drive was just a very unique experience. I think it was a great idea to close people off together, because then there wasn't the pressure of trying to find someone, and the open feeling that anyone could jump into a conversation with anyone else without feeling like they were bothering the other. Maybe if there are similar things in the Oregon Trail plot? XD wagon groups.

Also, the idea of random dangers jumping into plots was so tense. My roomie can testify that while Yukari was stuck in that van and waiting to see where the T-Rex would go, I was tense. It had that element of surprise, and it really was just awesome roleplaying. Also with the random raptors jumping into posts, it was a good way to keep people on their toes, and just gave the entire plot a more real feeling.

No complaints really from this side. I guess I can see the point of making more/ expanding the plot but I can totally understand wanting to try a smaller plot because they really can get stale after a whole week. So anyway, this post was so useless but I felt a need to convey my EPIC LOVE for what you guys did ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

All that I can say is Jenn deserves a gold medal for somehow managing to keep up with so many fucking threads, since she played Hammond AND all the dino attacks.

[identity profile] preparedforthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
Nthing that it would have been nice to have more time between the major events, since it was hard to plan and execute any sort of CR if one person didn't happen to be on AIM right that second. Retconning only gets you so far and I was loathe to leave the computer for food in case I missed something. I like food. D:

But I'm pretty impressed with the mod dedication on Hammond and all the dinosaur threading. The plot-specific characters really added to the experience. Godmodding up 100% of that stuff wouldn't have been the same at all.

I liked the mass posts a lot better than five billion seperate "in such-and-such a room" posts, dunno about anyone else. Made it much easier to find threads. Scrolling through a mass post and picking who and where to throw a character at was like a buffet with crab legs and prime rib on it!

In general, uhh, yeah, have some dinosaur love.

Seriously, this is my second-favourite plot next to the NY one. It was like... a serious plot. That didn't have to be taken seriously. It was just fun. I LOVED IT.

THANK YOU MIMI

THANK YOU JENN FOR REPLYING TO EVERYONE JESUS CHRIST YOU CRAZAY

Plot love! My work computer hated the huuuuge threads, but, well, my work computer sucks. *punts it*

ARE OUR PREHISTORIC BUDDIES STILL AROUND? Like, uh, the compy Tosh tried to sneak back? And possibly the dragonfly that decided to adopt Donna because lulz she has the worst luck with giant bugs, IT R CANON.

THANK YOU FOR THE PLOT MIMIIII.

I think I would have enjoyed this plot so much more if I had FEWER CHARACTERS. |D;; What I did get done, though, with Famine, Ten and Jude was awesome fun and I wish I had the time to get everyone inivolved. This was a great plot, the format was great for getting CR, and... yes. I enjoyed it. 8D

I particularly liked the mass posts, because it urges people to create CR -- I think if everyone had done separate posts for where their folks were, then stuff would have been ignored and the plot wouldn't have been nearly as involved or exciting. I say go for that format again. \o/

JENN YOU ARE CRAZY FOR PLAYING ALL THE DINOS BUT ILU FOR IT. ♥ I WAS TERRIFIED.

[identity profile] spongetastic.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
The mass posts were really good, though I agree having them all in quick sucession was hard to keep up with ^^; And it is rather hard to go through comments, especially after a certain number because of slow upload time D:

But yes~ Great plot, and totally made me wish I had the movie so I could watch it again.

Jurassic Park is one of my favourite movies, and I squeed so hard when I saw the plot. I agree that the group threads were probably the best way to go, and I loled hard at the Park Drive post.

One thing that should be mentioned, though 8PM is a fine time for some people, bear in mind that it's 1AM in the UK. I had to miss out on a lot of sleep to have my characters involved in the big action threads. Seriously, I was up 'til 5AM doing the Park Drive one. So some major action ones earlier in the day would be nice, instead of saving them all for evening.

Other than that though, awesome plot. I loved it.

You already know what I think, but...I totally loved it. This has been my favourite plot by far. I really loved the mass posts, especially the Park Drive one where everyone was comfortable threadjacking each other, compared to individual posts where people usually aren't, despite the journals being an "open channel". It was great for CR building with new characters, where the other plots didn't seem to be. Only expanded on what you already had.

I agree with a few of the other people that...it could have been spread out more? When you get up/get back, it was kind of off putting to already see a post have like 200 comments and think whatever was going on in it, you probably missed out in, so skim it later for necessary info, but don't bother. But still. It was awesome.

And you're amazing Jenn, for being so organized about it and throwing dino's everywhere sfdgff. ♥

[identity profile] mistressofrobin.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I think mass, structured plots are great for all the reasons everyone's mentioned. They foster a lot of new CR, they direct and actually move the game around rather than having us sit on our bums going, "What the heck to do?", and they add a neat environmental dynamic to the overall game. It's obvious you guys put a lot of thought into structuring and carrying the plot out, and you and Mimi deserve mucho props for coming up with it. So thanks so much for the plot!

That said, for some stupid reason, I'm terrified of jumping into the plot posts, and I don't exactly know why. I get excited about the major plot at first like everyone else, but when it comes right to actually joining in... I don't know, maybe I just get too intimidated by everything going on so fast to actually uh, do anything. That's why whenever Paradisa's gone into a world-changing plot, I comment here and there and pretty much disappear the rest of the time. Big plots are really cool and I'd love to take part of them more, but I don't know how to get into them without feeling so overwhelmed by the bustling activity.

Tl;dr version: Your plots rock, but I suck.

[identity profile] bro-codebreaker.livejournal.com 2009-04-21 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'm really sad that I couldn't really jump in as much as I wanted due to RL eating me alive. D: But that's not anyone's fault but mine, so. AUGH, MY LIIIFE. :P

Next time, Gadget. Next time.
