Baby mine don't you cry

So, as May draws nearer, some of you may be asking if we're going to have our annual Baby Plot. For newcommers, this means for one week in May, Paradisa pairs up residents and gives them a living, screaming child to take care of. The child looks like both of it's parents, and babies from previous years can return. It's home ec, Paradisa style! This is always an optional plot. Information on how the last one ran over on LJ can be found here.

What were are wondering is if people still want this plot to happen, or if are you all bored of it? If we do hold it, it will likely be in one of the last two weeks of May, so bear that in mind too. So without further ado, A POLL!

Poll #9936 Baby Plot!

I would be all for working this out and helping run this side of things, because even though the World plot is sort of on hold for new things (iirc) this is something that people ALWAYS wonder - where do they go when they are not here?

It could be a fun thing for all the people that opt into it to go to where the kids are and the rest of the people just... chill at the castle with NO KIDS AT ALL. Like the most peaceful two weeks ever.

ETA: Or - those that don't have kids, but still want to GO where the kids are can still go as like "uncle or aunt" so and so.

ETA2: Because, I know that opting out - is still difficult most times because ---- there are still babies all over.

Lmao let me try my hand at bullshitting this (though I don't want to run this)

Creepy Version (which is 90% a joke, I don't expect this to ever happen)
A timeless nursery run by a team of faceless nanny-slash-scientists. It's a nice little seaside place that has all sorts of rooms for new mothers and their families, but it's always empty of visitors and eerily quiet. The nanny-scientists aren't human; they are of an alien race where no individual has their own identity, and they all exist with a single consciousness spread across every body in their population. As they are a single consciousness, they have developed no need for speech or communication, not that they'd have much means to express it: they all look vaguely like amorphous cartoon ghosts, and have no discernible face or mouth.

They care for the children, and can control the babies' aging with all sorts of futuristic science. The children's memories are temporarily "turned off" while under the nannies' care, so that they are not made uncomfortable, and the memories are turned on (with appropriate additions or subtractions) when the children are sent to the castle.

The residents get to live in this maternity-ward type hospital place for a week. This is a terrible idea, I'm just bullshitting stuff.

The Less "Jenn, what the fuck? No." Version
The children exist in another dimension created by Paradisa that looks like a quaint stereotypical 50s suburb, Truman Show or Desperate Housewives style. Fake versions of themselves usually keep the babies company year round, but this time people go to visit them.

yay suburbs

Something must be wrong with me, I found the first option less creepy.

lmaooooo i've finally gone too far

Well, first is creepy because it's finding out your child is a part of some strange body horror experimental thing where they are incapable of developing any memories for the 358 days they are NOT in the castle, and cared for by faceless aliens who don't communicate with them in any way.

the second is creepy because you're thinking about Stepford Wives

this plot is supposed to be fun, yuff

I can't help it! I grew up in suburbs, so on the creep factor?

Stepford Wives > Strange Body Horror experimental things with aliens

Every time.

So did I, yet I find them ridiculously comforting and safe. OH, HOW EXPERIENCES ARE DIFFERENT....

...I just have to say that Creepy Version sounds like a Doctor Who episode.
