While the staff highly encourages everyone to participate, only comment if you are capable of giving and taking potentially harsh concrit in a mature, level-headed manner. Assume good faith at all times. Crit is meant to be resolved, not "won". Give mutual respect for each other's work and ideas. Aggressiveness creates unproductive stress and conflict. If you are emotionally compromised, you are not fit to captain the Starship Enterprise need to step back, take a break, and then return when you're ready.

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

Alternatively, you may choose to post a link to your private HMD thread on the character's journal and take comments there instead. The first thread of this post will be reserved for those people, and we will freeze those comments. People will be expected to follow the link to the character's individual HMD to give crit there.

Two months, then, sorry! I've been heavily preoccupied. ...I understand his loss is a bit much, and at the time of writing the app I didn't really understand the loss portion a hundred percent and was trying to differentiate mine from the other Dean's that have apped (otherwise I would've made his loss the impala or the memory of Cassie, or Lisa and Ben.) I'm in agreement wtih you that hunting and his childhood really shape the way he is, and who he is, but the loss isn't really something I can do anything about unless the mods will speak with me and allow me to change it to one of the listed above. If that's the case I'd be willing to retcon so that I could play Dean as something other than this blank slate. I don't enjoy it either.

You have to seek out the mods, but in the literature for the game, it says you're allowed to change losses if you give a good reason. I think the fact that it took most of his development and deeper characterization from him constitutes good reason and I'm sure if you contacted Jenn or Kayla or Fudgey they'd be happy to allow you to change it to something more fitting for playing the character with his canon depth.

They'd probably even let you start him as a fresh slate with no memories if that's what you wanted for your retcon so that he'd have no memories of Paradisa, but honestly I don't think you've done enough with him since joining for it to warrant that being necessary.
