HOW'S MY DRIVING?

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

Alternatively, you may choose to post a link to your private HMD thread on the character's journal and take comments there instead. The first thread of this post will be reserved for those people, and we will freeze those comments. People will be expected to follow the link to the character's individual HMD to give crit there.

please please PLEASE finally credit your icons. stealing someone else's work without due recognition is tacky.

My only real crit is back off the italics with Damon. Italics denote places of srs bzns verbal emphasis, and you seem to be throwing them in like they'll be outlawed in a week and you need to use all you can in that week grace period. While that makes for a hilarious drinking game reading your tags aloud in a Shatner voice, it's on the less fun side when it comes to IC characterization.

tbh i think you are concentrating too much on emo not enough on dark. wesley isn't a canon moeblob emokid, he's a bamf with a lot of issues and a self-destructive bent. your wes is, not to put too fine a point on it, way too nice 99% of the time.

I've been meaning to get around to this for a while. I haven't keyworded any of my icons either/was planning to do this together/am sill in the process of switching some out but you're right, that is something that I've been forgetting about/putting it off for a long time. I'll make this more of a priority.

In all honesty, I'd rather not force the situation. Their attitude toward each other isn't going to fix itself in one thread or one log. I try very hard to not drop threads, so I will just make a better effort OOCly to keep an eye on what Spike says and if Harmony would comment to it.

Well, I don't feel like their attitude is something that needs to be fixed? They don't have to get along. I mean, it would take a hell of a lot for Spike to start liking Harmony.

But yes, keeping an eye on each other's posts et cetera, threading, not forcing, I'm good with this. :-)

akldsgh nothing specifically, but I've noticed that Maya has this trend where she makes a bunch of friends, and then 80% of them leave. And the sad part is, she's finally noticed it to with this round? She's just going to be sad over loosing friends, and it'll take her a bit longer than usual to pick herself up after this round.

LMAO yes, see, that's exactly what I was talking about, because I was so psyched to get to thread with Barney, but Logan's such a dick and it can be so hard to get him to have conversations with normal people. I am experimenting with it to try to find a good way to do it without it feeling forced as all hell, so thank you for being patient and trying with me. :3

UMMMMMM I think Logan could end up being able to talk with the Doctor, so they might be able to develop some actual CR. And I'd love to have him talk to Ray, even though I know already that he'll be annoyed by him. BUT THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. He's also met Darkwing's daughter, so that'll at least help him get past the 'I'm talking to a duck' mindset a little easier.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I'll admit that even with the level of comfort I've developed with the game, I still get nervous about some things, just like everybody, and some of them have always been ... things you addressed here!

I'll be honest too about this, and I'm not trying to sound egocentric in any way, but I got nervous about bringing Lois here in the first place, because I also had never ever seen a Lois that I thought was played well. I've seen her played repeatedly as a caricature of her quirks, where people force them all to the front but don't seem to put a lot of energy into what's going on underneath, or I've seen people stereotype her as a bitch, with few redeeming qualities, or I've seen her used simply as a vessel to ship someone with Clark Kent, etc. etc. etc. I've also stalked a few Loises around other games, and I never see her used as anything more than a character who quietly moves around in the background, doing her own thing. That, to me, isn't Lois at all. Even in a place populated with superheroes, Lois should be able to hold her own: it's what defines her as a character in the comics world, after all. Next to people like Wonder Woman and Supergirl and other DC heroes, Lois still manages to come off as a 'hero' without any powers whatsoever, because of her attitude, her persistence, and her commitment to justice. So I knew that if I was going to really commit to having her in a game with an amazing DC cast, I was either going to have to resign myself to letting her fade into the background and doing it wrong, or work my ass off in order to make her shine, even amongst a community of superheroes. I realized within a week of being here how fantastic this place was, and knew that it was worth it for me to go the second route. I put a lot of time into making her a prominent character right off the bat, because I knew it would be harder to do that down the line, and I wanted her to leave a solid first impression. It isn't as if I've done another project since that's as time consuming as her first research post, but that will always be there, and I can continue to have her add to it over time - so it seems as if she's constantly doing that kind of thing, even if I'm not. I don't want to get lazy with it, so I'm trying to work on another report with Pan, but I haven't had a lot of OOC time, but luckily I have IC reasons right now for Lois to not be publishing that kind of report until she gets over the mental block of the castle having used her body to wreak havoc and kill her friends, probably as a result of all her digging. I figure as long as I can do something of that kind of research scope at least once a year, Lois will continue to maintain a reputation in the castle world as someone who always has the scoop, and I won't stress myself out too much by trying to do it constantly in game. It's for that second reason that I don't have her doing something like trying to start up a newspaper and maintain it week to week, etc. Luckily with Hard Harry around, there's already someone reporting the weekly news, so it makes sense for her to not feel the need to fill that gap.

I really love everything you said here about Lois & Lana's individual research methods, because that's exactly how I see it too. One reason I love your Lana so much is that she seems to embody those latter-season qualities that develop over time in Lana - the Luthor-like way she hedges information to herself until its needed, and likes to handle things her own way instead of throwing it out there for anybody else to take care of, etc. She has her motivations for doing it that way, and it's one thing that separates her from Lois as a character. Lois is not a secretive person, and she doesn't see information as 'belonging' to her, except for in terms of a 'scoop' being hers - and it's only 'hers' in that she gets to be the first one to tell it to everyone. It's an entirely different mindset, and I would also love to explore the differences between them more by having them work on something together. I hope something comes up that will be logical for us to do this with! I'll keep it in mind as time rolls on and we'll figure something out.

I would really love to just explore their CR from here out in general, becase of the fact that they were just... completely deprived of any chance to develop it beyond S6 or so on the show. They used to actually be friends, but then it was as if they had to exist in their own separate bubbles, and I really would have loved to see them deal with each other more as they both developed their already strong personalities into the women they were becoming. I think they both branched off farther in farther in different directions, and I agree that they really need to butt heads on it in game here, because Lois is suspicious slightly of what Lana has turned in to, due to her time with Lex, though she wants to believe that it didn't leave too many lasting scars on Lana's psyche. She is cautiously optimistic, but not stupid about it, and their one conversation in the wake of the Isis stuff was a really great example of things I'd love to do more with. I thought it was really telling of their different perspectives and methods.

YOU CAN HAVE IT. I'd love for Wolverine to interact with Lana too, really, but did you also have anybody else in mind?

Notes: I've been trying to get more active in this game and I hope it pays off. I know I kind of sat back on the most recent plot but that's mostly because I have a couple of plots lined up for him probably within the course of the next month.
Specific Crit Requests: His voice, mostly. I know I've gotten him down pretty good, but sometimes I wonder if the things he says and does are Vanitas-esque. IS HE TROLLING ENOUGH? No seriously, I know he can troll and I think I'm doing alright with that, but I'm wondering if its a good line that I'm having where he's pushing people. Do I need to push more? Or less?

I'd also really like any feedback on being a mun or playing in this game. I know I've had help from people like Dolly, but I'd really appreciate any feedback on how I can be better as a role player in this game. Activity has been an issue in the past, and I try to drop threads as little as possible. But anything you guys could recommend for me would be greatly appreciated.

Any and all feedback is great guys and I really appreciate it.

And its not so much crit but I could really use some pointers or suggestions on possible losses. I've been trying to think up a good one for a few weeks now and I can't think of any that really stick in my mind.

So I feel really really bad but the only one of your muses that I know extensively is Logan. DESPITE ME WATCHING SMALLVILLE WAY BACK WHEN, I know very little of the canon ~~Ironically I stopped dropping in season 4 when Lois was introduced OH WELL~~. But yes, from what little I know, I love your Lois to pieces already and threading her, for the short amount of time was fun. ~~Even if all your muses like picking fights with Vanitas~~ and I'm sure the same thing would go for Han too.

So, yes, Logan, haha. Okay so pardon me while I squeel a little bit. But truth be told I absolutely love and adore your Logan. As someone who pretty extensively has watched all of the X-men movies (I think my all time count for the first movie isl ike 36+ times?? L-LOL), I was excited to see a Logan. But not only that you play a really good Logan.

You have his voice down almost perfect. The banter you have him going on is A+ and its funny to see his no nonsense. His voice is perfect, because from his word choice and tone, it just screams Logan. I think the best part is that he does use so little words, but what he does use is effective and I think you capitalize on that beautifully. Whether it be by threatening people in just a few comments or what he did with Travis and just end the feed immediately (I seriously was LOLing IRL for a good few minutes at you two, so good.) Even his actions are very, very Logan with that act and kick butt first and ask questions, or not ask questions, later. But he's not unreasonable either. But at the same time he can be nurturing, and even though he has lost some of that, since he lost his memories of Rogue, you still managed to keep that intact. I think that was demonstrated so well with his recent with X-23 and trying to comfort her (but I"ll talk about that more later). Even though you've just started out playing him here, I think you know his character and his mannerisms very well and its wonderful to watch and interact with.

But I think my favorite part, that you addressed as a concern is his interaction with canon mates, specifically I love and continue to love his interaction with X-23. You handle his reactions to others without possibly meta gaming, and I'll admit I was worried to see a movie verse Logan where I know there is a heavy comic book base here in paradisa. But I loved all of it. I haven't read everything, of course, but what I have seen has been great and very in character.

But yes X-23, SCREAM. Its golden, so very golden. I pretty much has my face GLUED TO THE SCREEN as I read their most recent thread where they talked about who she was, and how they bonded over that. I always think that if Logan and her met up in an RP they would have this almost...unique interaction, bordering on father-daughter. If that's your plan? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME, but I loved the way he treated her and acted around her. Its very very Logan and I approve whole heartily.

I will admit I was rather...curious as to why you decided to take him from post-X3.Other than perhaps for that it was a definite canon end point for him. The reason I ask is because of me being such a diehard, Logan but especially Phoenix fan it was interesting to see someone actually play him from that point ~~as much as the third movie makes me RAGE sometimes lol~~. So I just wanted to know your thoughts as to the canon point.

Also while...I'm here I wanted to ask if maybe we can...plot in the future. I know you said that if anything happens where a fight would be provoked (LOL VANITAS DOES THIS ALL THE TIME ANYWAYS) that you'd want to talk about it. S-so yeah, just throwing it out there. BUT YES I'M UP FOR ANYTHING, whether it be witty banter or fighting or anything, I just love interacting with your Logan *__*

I really wish I had known about this, and I feel like I owe you an apology on my end too. Things got so big that I had to keep new posts going up in order to not have the plot drag on for over a week, and pull general morale of the castle down anymore, which meant as new posts went up, I had to devote energy to tagging the newer posts before going to backtagging, and as such, I ran low on time and energy to backtag more than once or twice a day, which was very very frustrating for me, and I'm sure, others involved. I tried my hardest, but I wish I had known that you needed info on where the thread was going OOC. Please please please don't feel hesitant to contact me, even if I'm busy, I will GLADLY make time to work on that kind of thing OOC with anybody, anytime. I didn't want it to be stressful for you, and I definitely don't want you to feel hesitant / embarrassed about it, as I want your tags always ♥

And I'd love love love to throw Han at the Bebop crew more! He'd definitely fit in with that element more than a lot of others, I think, so I'll make sure to toss him that way whenever possible.

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling more confidence. I will say that Para muns are surprisingly welcoming (really...don't take the HMD as an indicator. It is, after all, a place for complaints), and that non-canon mates would certainly be thrilled to have tags from her. In a game that moves as fast as Para does, there's really no such thing as too many tags from one person. More CR is always love.

I stand by what I said. Your Rose is lovely. I can always hear her voice in tags. It will be great to see her around a bit more.

Anyways, thank you for reading his threads and pointing out the stuff that's working really well. I try really hard to make sure I pick the -exact right words- for him when I tag since he doesn't use many, and to say a lot with... brackets or tone of voice, or even with his curtness.

I've felt really blessed that we have such a wonderful X-23 to work with, because I'll admit I was nervous about it when I apped him, uncertain of what to expect. We have let things just happen organically, and aren't planning out a direction for them to go in, but that's largely because my knowledge of the comics with her in it is very limited, and I don't want my decisions to be influenced too much by / simply mirroring canon, as this Logan is slightly different, and circumstances are VERY different. Either way though, it's a relief to hear that it seems to be flowing naturally and in the right direction, because I really love their interactions so far. There's a part of him that recognizes there's some kind of gap where his memories of Rogue are but he doesn't know that consciously, so this helps him plug Laura into that place on a subconscious level.

As for canon point, you asked why I took him post-X3, but I did not...? I actually took him from a little before halfway in the movie, after Phoenix first wakes up. I took him from that spot because I wanted to pull him from a point that would leave some questions open ended for him back home: and the biggest one I could think of was what had happened to Jean and what Phoenix was going to do next. It makes for an interesting dynamic of his having to worry about that problem back home, and seek out information from people here about how to maybe avert her fate when he returns, etc. Also, I honestly didn't want to deal with all the character deaths in X3, and the potential of those people apping here :C That's just a matter of personal preference. I did, however, want to have him be established enough in the X-Men that he would feel comfortable taking some control over the X-Kids here, so the third movie seemed the logical choice.

AND YES we can totally plot and Plurk is a great place to do so. :D Please add away! ♥
