While the staff highly encourages everyone to participate, only comment if you are capable of giving and taking potentially harsh concrit in a mature, level-headed manner. Assume good faith at all times. Crit is meant to be resolved, not "won". Give mutual respect for each other's work and ideas. Aggressiveness creates unproductive stress and conflict. If you are emotionally compromised, you are not fit to captain the Starship Enterprise need to step back, take a break, and then return when you're ready.

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

I'm glad you're aware of your activity, hon, because you really are a fantastic player - you can cover a wide range of characters, and do it well, and I just ... fff, want you around more. Selfish as that may sound. In particular, I REALLY want Harry to get to know Joshua, and I backtagged their thread in the music room for a while, but I just had to drop it recently because it's been so long that ... he's changed a little, and gotten used to some of the castle's weirdness, so it's strange to have to put my head back in newbie mode.

That being said? Your Dave is pretty much 5000% perfect. If anyone questions that, I will just point them at the Slenderman rap that just landed in my inbox like a box full of motherfucking boonbucks kicked out of the sky.

My only crit is kind of ... invalid and more me pouting, because, as you say, Logan's a man of few words, which makes it hard for me to think of someone to throw at him. Barney, clearly, did a bit of a crash-and-burn, but that's mostly because he's ... Barney.

Kate is beautiful - the way you play her makes me want to go track down her canon. I don't know Karen, but she seems like she's doing well, too. I know how you feel about Uru, too, because that's EXACTLY what's been happening with Barney. I think it might be Long-Term-Resident syndrome. They should start working on a cure together. :P

As for Aki? I may have told you this over AIM, but he's dead on and I love it. Even if Harry may not... ahaha.

Specific Crit Requests: I am hoping that I'm doing alright in dealing with the darker more emo side of Wes from where he is canonically and yet still allowing him the lighter moments and also rebuilding CR with his castmates (and also with new people) since obviously Paradisa won't let him stagnate or remain brooding in his room the whole time. Let me know if I'm striking a good balance or need more work etc.

All I really have to say is this: prior to you arriving here, we've had a few Weses (Wesii? what's the plural of a Wes?) and they were either flashes in the pan, or a bit grating to read. So I was wary about getting CR with him, again ...

... And now I'm looking back at the Slenderman plot and absolutely LOVING the interactions that Ray has had with him so far. So ... I suppose my biggest compliment is, thank you for making me LIKE this guy again. :D

(And yes, this is coming from someone who hasn't seen any Angel, and is looking into rectifying that ASAP thanks to our cast. :D)

Specific Crit Requests: No way to sugar coat this one. I have been struggling with her for a while now. She has been meeting her activity requirements, but not with any sort of real verve. Once upon a time Willow was my favorite person in the world to play. Somehow I've lost that a little, but I still fight against letting her go. Been working on some canon review.

Loss: Her false memories as given to her in Angel's trade for Connor's security.
Canon Point: Immediately following Smile Time
Notes: She managed a bit better in the past plot. She's coming off a strong month for new CR, and am looking forward to cementing that in upcoming weeks.
Specific Crit Requests:I feel like she needs even more direction. She has her friends and her hobbies and her days are definitely filled -- but it still feels like she needs more. As always, open to anything.

I wanted to confirm something but, can you explain why Souji is friendly with Riful? I understand the previous Souji caught her eye and she's been speaking to him lately but I do wonder if he's aware she's considered a highly dangerous enemy?

Ang...you are without doubt completely amazing. I know you're trying your best to be active, so I'll try to address what I can with that in mind.

You are doing perfectly with Ray. His intro was probably one of the best I have ever read here so far. He's insanely fun to stalk and gets along with just about everybody. My only concern here is that you're perhaps favoring him a little more over your other characters. Which is understandable, I just don't want to see him negatively affect your other muses.

Mark/Harry - I admit to a lot of bias on this because Harry is one of a few people that Felix is close enough to to consider an actual friend, but he continues to be consistent and pitch-perfect. As far his edge...keep in mind that he isn't railing against corruption and boredom...things in Paradisa are a little more intense than that, I would not expect him to keep that up every single week - both you and him will burn out at that rate. It's OK if you let the lines blur between Harry and Mark more...see where that leads you. In the meantime you're doing a terrific job of those recaps, and managing to make them different each time.

Darkwing. I can only comment on what I remember from my childhood (and I know you hate that phrase), but as far as I remember it's perfect, and his involvement in the Slenderman plot was surprisingly moving. Bravo.

Fifth Doctor - I regret not knowing him very well, but his is another character that I really enjoy threading with. I'd like to see you continue with organizing some expeditions, but I also don't want you to overreach.

Barney - I don't see you tag around with him much, which is a shame, and out of all your characters it seems he's the one you take the longest to get back to. You might consider that a sign. I wish I could give you advice on how to revive him a bit, but not knowing the canon, I'm afraid I've got nothing. :(

I appreciate your being honest with me, and really, this is spot on, I think...

I WAS favoring Ray pretty heavily over the last week, but it was just because of the nature of the Slenderman plot ... he'll be moving back to share his space with the rest of the kids, now, I promise. And I know Barney's the worst in terms of my getting back to it, but ... I feel like two things are happening: he seems to do the same stuff over and over, lately, AND a lot of things have happened over the last half-year or so that have dragged him down, ICly. So there's a lot of cover-up on his part, which LEADS to the "doing the same stuff" as a sort of keeping up the act...

Obviously, the shit has got to hit the fan ICly at some point, and I'm trying to come up with something that, in the process, will bring him back to being his old crazy self and put some wind back in his sails. It's the trick of thinking up something appropriate that's tough... so I'm very much open for suggestions.

EDIT: Also, with Five, I really DO want him to be involved in the expeditions, but I'm also used to there being some kind of signal as to when, ICly, they're meant to go down... and I know I couldn't be the one to actually RUN them from a mun perspective, as I'm not available as much as I'd like to be in order to do it justice. I put up an OOC post to that effect a while back, but I haven't seen anyone else concretely step up to try and put something together. Maybe this should come up in the next CR meme? IDK ...

Notes: Slenderman kind of screwed her up a little in the sense that she feels pretty useless about it. Annnddd...as it looks like Naruto is gone, that's going to hit her hard as well. On other notes, I have been transitioning her into stuttering less as she becomes more comfortable with the castle and the people in it, especially the more she gets to know someone: does this seem natural? Or is there anything about her character and how I'm portraying her that doesn't seem right?

☼ I know I have been really, really horrid with my activity since December. But things are calming down and I'm trying so hard to work on it. Especially since Monday ends what has been the worst month at my job, and will hopefully mark things in my RL straightening out and becoming less depressing. So I am definitely working on it, and on trying to lessen the wait for tags from me.
☼ With that, if you ever have to wait for three days or more for tags, please don't be afraid to bug me for them. Moreso now with this whole notif debacle.

My main point this go around is what an amazing addition Ray has been to the group. Fred's observations in their thread were absolutely true. It feels like they have known each other a lot longer than they have.

And as someone who struggles with activity at times herself, I wanted to say I definitely recognize your efforts there as well.

Willow and Barney must do more...

You know I love your Willow, and you've got her voice down to a tee ... and I can sympathize with the struggling. I'm feeling much the same way with Barney. I think that somewhere, there should be some sort of FAQ on how to revitalize characters you've been playing for a long time to avoid ruts and such ... because looking around this HMD, I've been noticing that it isn't just us.

And in the Fred corner? I'm going to tell you pretty much the same thing I told Wes' mun ... I was never that big on Angel in general, and haven't seen any of it. Our cast here has completely changed my mind, and I've been trying to track the DVDs down so I can give you all proper feedback - as it is definitely deserved.
