HOW'S MY DRIVING?

Comment with the names of the characters you play for feedback on your roleplaying. Other players will then reply to your comment telling you what they honestly think in a constructive manner. While both praise and critique is welcome, we'd like to remind you that this is a valuable tool for many of our members. We'd like to request that all comments remain constructive.

While the staff highly encourages everyone to participate, only comment if you are capable of giving and taking potentially harsh concrit in a mature, level-headed manner. Assume good faith at all times. Crit is meant to be resolved, not "won". Give mutual respect for each other's work and ideas. Aggressiveness creates unproductive stress and conflict. If you are emotionally compromised, you are not fit to captain the Starship Enterprise need to step back, take a break, and then return when you're ready.

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

Alternatively, you may choose to post a link to your private HMD thread on the character's journal and take comments there instead. The first thread of this post will be reserved for those people, and we will freeze those comments. People will be expected to follow the link to the character's individual HMD to give crit there.

A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW IT and also we are both the kind of people who watch a lot of "cartoons for grown-ups" (my next character is coming from a different cartoon lol my life). But it is honestly one of the best shows on TV, and well worth getting into despite the fact that I currently hate it.

And yes! Just drop her a PM or email, she is always good to backtag as well.

a week

[personal profile] encourage 2011-03-12 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
At the least, just for OOC coordination reasons. Depending on how involved any such take-down might end up being, maybe more than a week? Unless it goes the ninja surprise way which could be hilarious but -- presuming it doesn't, at least a week to coordinate people/things OOCly to help smooth it out ICly and/or account for folks who would be around ICly but might be unable to OOCly at the time. WORK IN THE ANGLES I wrote angels the first time

/works the angels into here!!!

Yup, they all.. killed each other. It was pretty epic.

Julian made a big deal about it later, too, so characters should know about it IC.

It's horrible that I do remember Julian talking about that and I'm still sitting her durp-faced going how did I forget this?!

[identity profile] todd-fan.livejournal.com 2011-03-12 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You are about six billions degrees of PURE EPIC AND WIN. You're just a delight OOC and work SO hard to let everyone have a chance to be involved in your stuff. You're like a CR making machine, and I've NEVER seen you turn it down, however small or mundane it is.

Your characters are sheer perfection. I fail at giving any crit on how to improve because you're just amazing.

[identity profile] gizmobunny.livejournal.com 2011-03-12 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't begin to say how glad I am that you mentioned the whole maturity thing. Finding that balance was my biggest worry about writing him, and I'm so glad it worked. Honestly, I'd actually been worried about writing him too mature - I've spent the past two years writing an AU story in which he's a total sleaze, so I'm constantly afraid that I'm going to forget his roots or something. XD

[identity profile] gizmobunny.livejournal.com 2011-03-12 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! I think it's clear from how his character is introduced that he has the capabilities to be outgoing, and it all relies on circumstance. So I'm glad that you think that's working!

And then she smells like Wesley and Angel's brain breaks. This still has to happen too, you realize.

That's kind of a scary thought. Ares needs to start himself a harem of chicks with shady morals.

[identity profile] matchmaker.livejournal.com 2011-03-12 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Your last sentence totally broke my brain. I think I need to try and watch some though. Not that I have sixteen other series lined up or anything gah.

I'm gonna go dye some hair (note to guys out there: never let the women in your life know you can dye hair or they will never let you rest), and then I'll try to hit up those posts and hopefully get into my tagging groove.

LOL I DON'T MEAN TO SOUND CRAZY :( they totally broke my heart with the s4 finale, and I have yet to be able to let VB back in my life. Yes I know it was four months ago and yes I know I am insane. MY LIFE IS HARD OKAY?

I do realize this. It does need to happen. And so it will. We'll make it happen.

He does. And..Lilah needs more shady acquaintances in general. So it works well for everyone..except maybe the general public.

I'm probably biased buuuut I think your Sakura is a doll. I don't think you're getting annoying at all (haha wtf), and I wouldn't mind seeing her around more. I'm still impressed with her loss, to be honest. She might take it a little harder maybe? I admit I haven't read everything you've done with her so this might be a moot point, but I know you brought it up in her most recent post. I'm not really sure what goes through a person's mind when they lose their voice, but again I haven't had any complaints so far.

Stiiiiick~

I still love stalking your chars. You are a joy to thread with and a joy to read.

I will agree with Dolly... the activity levels can make it difficult to tag, sometimes. This, however, is subject to RL which obviously comes first. It's also something I've been struggling with, so I completely get it. It's just something to keep in mind. You might want to make sure that, when you get time to post, you devote at least a good hour or two to answering tags so the threads can get somewhere. If they slow down after that? Well...they slow down. It happens. ^.^

Zelman is still one of my favorite chars to follow and I really have to throw someone at Nill. She's too adorable to ignore.

The only crit I have isn't a crit so much as a...suggestion? Question? Since I don't know the inner workings of the mod team, this could be a little off base. But I'd love to see you delegate more of the mod responsibilities. You are an amazing mod and your dedication is what makes this place so incredible, but it's supposed to be fun for you too. It also can start to be a burden when you're sick and you feel you've got to push yourself to keep up the level of activity you're at.

No one could replace you, but you already have excellent people helping you out. I'm sure there are others who would be willing to step up if there are tasks you could hand away without causing too much complication.

Backtagging or tagging outside of castmates are two things I'd love to see, but that's linked to being stretched thin with mod duties and is more from a stalker's perspective. Personally, I've always been incredibly happy with our threads and I love your chars' voices. You do an excellent job with them.

World of Warcraft

Lady Liadrin --
[livejournal.com profile] liadrin

Loss: Memories of M'uru. Anything involving him has been rewritten or replaced, or erased entirely.
Canon Point: Cataclysm. Still attending to the Sunwell and attempting to patch things up between the Alliance and the Horde.

TRON

C.L.U. 2.0 --
[livejournal.com profile] end_0f_line
 Image

Loss: The knowledge that he created the virus Abraxas. It's a shift in views that still makes him feel all the more justified for what he did to the ISOs, even though he has learned it truly was his own hand that corrupted Jalen.
Canon Point: The end of Legacy. Vagueness to avoid spoilers.

Personal note: I've been struggling a lot lately with personal issues like my day job giving me way too many days, and being behind on my commission work. I know it's no excuse for slowness on my part, and I have been tagging when I can from my cell phone, but it only lets me keep one account logged in easily, and right now that's C.L.U. XD So yes, give me whatever you feel you need to say. I'll listen, as always. <333

I'd also like to see you branch out a bit. I understand you are close with Christina and have a lot of close CR with her, but it would be nice to also expand your CR to others as well. The same can be said for your CR with Skittles as well.

Sophie has always been an intriguing character, one of the reasons I love Leverage so much, but she doesn't get a lot of time to shine in Paradisa. The only posts with her these days seem to be heavily revolved around Larry or Hardison, both played by Skittles. Even her open posts are reduced to threads with either Christina's or Skittle's characters while any other threads fall short and seem very flat.

Rather than make open post after open post, why not tag around, and introduce her to new people? She is secretive, yes, but this has never stopped her from reaching out and being the social butterfly she can be.

That is really excellent to hear! I'm hoping to get him and my others out a bit more once I cut my cast down. I want him to interact more with non-castmates. But that is really, really encouraging.

[identity profile] likethetragedy.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just dropping a line here to let you know I really have respected everything you've done with Booth particularly in regards to the Isis situation. You've done a great job with him so far and I hope I get the chance to play with him in the future.

We've talked about that lately and we've already started putting in new task organization systems for apps and tracking activity and stuff, and while the vast majority of that is going to be behind the scenes, it should make it a lot easier to run the game. We'll see how it pans out, and if we need more helpers, we'll take action from there. Thank you, though.

I hope to be tagging more (both back and to non-castmates) a lot more in the future! I'm really happy that we have CR and I hope we get to build it more soon.

Heh, thank you! Yessss as far as getting her around more, I'm going to take advantage of talking to some of the new kids as they come in (ICly) and also the action posts I see out and around. There's a lot out there, I just need to hop on it! \o/

Yeah, I've downplayed a lot of what she's been thinking in regards to losing her voice, like the frustration that comes up in wanting to just be able to talk and still lapsing into it, or getting into habits of biting down on her tongue (sometimes literally) or her frustration at not being able to yell at people when she's pissed over what they've done -- downplayed it in the sense I haven't written about it a lot. More introspection would help, and that's part offff what I'm trying to get done with her. /fistpump, works on this!

Mayaaaaaa.

You and your girls always make me smile. Always.

It has seemed like Colette's been really far removed from everything, because of Joshua being crazy and her being at the outpost, which really limits CR opportunities. I don't think she's boring at all. I just think that, the longer she's that far from the castle, the harder it is to make new CR. However, I'll admit I haven't really been full-out stalking all of that, so it's possible those circumstances have/are changing.

Poor Maya. I love that girl so much. She's one of the main reasons I'm so hesitant to drop Mat. :( But I will hopefully find other ways to get CR with her.

Nanako is getting hugged and hair-ruffled forever and ever.

And I... haven't seen Yukari around enough to give feedback, so I'll stop there.

You are a slow tagger, but you're a very reliable one, and that means more to me. I love CR with you. End of story.

[identity profile] end-0f-line.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
You know I love your pups <333

I'm glad to see you posting with Malygos as he's such a petulant, fussy and incredibly fun character who always makes me smile. You have his personality down to the last detail, and I couldn't imagine this place without that cranky darg.

I should probably get around to tagging in on Alice and Clare, as I really do love Alice and demand all the CR ever. +w+
