We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

Alternatively, you may choose to post a link to your private HMD thread on the character's journal and take comments there instead. The first thread of this post will be reserved for those people, and we will freeze those comments. People will be expected to follow the link to the character's individual HMD to give crit there.

Personal: Honestly... I'm feeling weirdly shaky about all of my girls right now. I'm definitely going to dive into a cannon review for all of them. HOWEVER, I've been trying hard to be a better and faster tagger, and have been making a conscious effort to make sure that my inbox is empty each night when I go to bed. I hope it shows! However if it doesn't, please let me know. I don't want to be annoying to thread with ♥

Colette: She's just been so serious lately, and it's making her sound really... mature? I worry she sounds too old, and too smart. I'm afraid that I'm losing my grip on how truly dumb Colette can be, and making her too insightful/older? I don't know, AM I THINKING TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS? People with CR with her, are you being derped at enough?

Maya: Maya is also sounding really.. old. On one hand, that's kind of to be expected... she's been here for nearly three years, and she's growing up bit by bit. HOWEVER, on a more worrying note I feel like she's falling... flat? Are other people noticing this too, or is it just me?

Nanako: I worry that her voice is becoming less distinctive, and that things that she says could be swapped out for what Colette says. Does she still sound like a child/have her distinct voice? And is she too... happy...?

I can only really speak about Colette but this is a problem that I can have too sometimes-

Considering how long Colette has been here and the sort of the stuff she's been through (getting killed by Cabot, Joshua, the pirate plot, losing friends all the time, etc), it's honestly understandable that she's growing more mature and smart than how she was in canon. That's all part of growing up, especially in an environment like Paradisa where unlike her canon world there isn't a shonen derp who can fix everything just through willpower, speeches and deus ex machina (cause yeah, as dark as TOS can be- Colette still has that hope that either sacrificing herself and/or Lloyd being a shonen will fix EVERYTHING). Frankly considering all the stuff she's been through...it would be a bit on the unbelievable and annoying side to see her fall for the exact same tricks she fell for in 2008.

But at the same time I can get wanting to retain the derp side. So possibly think about it coming up in random spots whenever you can - even if it's over minor moments. I tend to treat it like that for Allen, and I find that it makes for a great break from serious business if I've had my fill of it. Like if a conversation is getting too heavy, have her trip or get stuck on some...analogy some character uses. Or tag into open posts doing something completely derpy- which gives the other character a lot of stuff to react to beyond just "THEY WERE WALKING BY AND GLANCED OVER". That way you can keep the derp without it really being...making the character never develop at all?

BUT YES, I do try to do all those things. Little things like making the Windrunners meet her by... tripping right in front of them, haha. And she still does get confused at terms of phrase, and sarcasm still goes right over her head. She's just been in a serious spot lately, so I haven't been able to do a lot of those... but you're right, she's happier again so I'll be able to stick more of those in there :3 alsdga

AND THE MAIN POINT IS, I'm glad you don't think it's unrealistic for her to develop in the way that she's developed :') that's the main thing that I was worried about.

I can't say much on Nanako since I don't know her canon but I can say that I absolutely love her thread with Nill and I'm really looking forward to playing with her more!

Ah, I'm so glad! Your Nill is soooooo adorable, I'm really excited for the two of them to thread more as well ♥

I haven't observed or tagged with Colette to compare, but I really enjoy Alan's interactions with Nanako. She does still sound like a kid, and I hope Alan doesn't come off as condescending rather than fatherly when interacting with her!

I haven't played Persona 4 so I'm not sure if you're comparing it to that, but she doesn't seem overbearingly happy to me. She's concerned and serious in the right places. :)

I kind of see what you mean about Maya sounding slightly old, but I don't think that that's too much of an issue or anything. In fact, I think it fits her well, for several reasons! One being that she has been here for three years, so she knows her way around the block by now, and she's obviously experienced by this point. Two being that she has had really serious stuff happen to her in her past, both at home and here at Paradisa, so it should affect her so she's slightly more mature. Finally, she has a complete lack of canonmates here, so it's kind of hard to bounce CR off of someone she knows, and you know what they should sound like together, which understandably makes it harder. (God, what I wouldn't give to have a Phoenix come in to Paradisa... or an Edgeworth!!) And, all of that being said, when it comes down to silly, fun moments, you pull her off perfectly then. I don't know how much credibility all of this will hold since I didn't really end up saying much at all, and you already know how much I love you and your Maya, but I think you're doing just fine, and you should just keep doing what you're doing. :D

I have no real suggestions, just a reminder that I love our CR like burning and want more of it.
