HOW'S THE GAME?
It's been awhile! It's time for another round of Game Discussion, also known as "How's The Game?"
Here we come together to discuss the game, its plots, the settings, and just about anything we can think of that we'd like to talk about, expand upon, improve, change, etc.
This is not an HMD for players and their characters; this should be about the game's function as a whole and not the people in it. If there is something you feel is absolutely necessary to address that involves a specific person, please IM a mod first to discuss it. We can be reached at terraqueous orb (Kayla), end title (Fudgey) or a great fanfare (Jenn). (Though Jenn is on hiatus right now because her laptop is broken, so Kayla or Fudgey would be best for right now!)
Anonymous will be left off for this round (see first section).
Here are the sections that we've come up with. Add your own and we'll edit it into the list.
Anonymous: Why is it turned off?
What do the mods/helpers do, anyways?
How is my activity being monitored?
Activity check changes
Applications/turnover rate
→ Test Drive Comm
Abilities on the application
Villains & Heroes
→ Recent Villain Activity
Death
World Plot/Paradisa Lore
→ Concrete Resolutions, etc.
Canon Updates
Mini-plot Planning
Changes since last HTG
Plots in General
How's The Game will now be held quarterly, in order to avoid excessively long stretches in which there is no outlet for discussion.

I think having either a bit more OOC or even IC information would be a nice change. I obviously don't want the plot to be spoiled but one or two pieces of information given from NPCs who are willing to give them to the residents whether because they side with them or a completely different purpose would be interesting, at least from my perspective. Because of how many NPCs we have, they wouldn't have to exist long either. Maybe something like another fallout they could have that the residents would be made aware of? To give them something to react to as well. Like NPC Johnny gives out some vital information to the residents and then winds up six feet under. Maybe it's extreme but I kind of like stuff like that, personally.
However, it's a very delicate issue - where, exactly, do we draw the line on how seriously we take the things we see there?
Not disagreeing either. It's hard and I don't know how to approach it properly but I think the more legitimate issues that are constantly brought up like CR or plot frustrations should be watched and taken into consideration? I don't know why players won't talk here but given how they can use anon in an uncontrolled environment, it might just be "easier" for them. I can't speak for everyone and even I would like to know why they won't come and use the channels here that are open for them. I would imagine it's because of built up frustrations that are often addressed but with no solution in regards.

We have had something like this planned since Koilos but haven't done it yet. I will discuss with Jenn about getting on that as soon as she comes back from hiatus. :D

I agree, which is why I tried to bring up what I could here! I'm not sure if I've covered all of the concerns that I could, here, but hopefully this is at least a start.

I think often the reason why things aren't addressed is because we don't get enough feedback to address them. We may not notice a problem with something, but if someone comments anon saying that they find ___ annoying, well ... that still isn't enough information for us to know exactly what to do about their concern. We need to know the why, the specifics, the explanation, before we can begin to tackle it. Otherwise we won't ... know what exactly to tackle, if that makes sense. :( But on anon comm, I feel like a lot of the time discussion in this manner is lost to mean remarks, trolling, etc. I've ... been told to essentially go away when asking for feedback at one point there, so. :( I guess I hardly feel like I get anything I can work with out of there, which is why I encourage people to discuss with me so we can work it out.
