HOW'S THE GAME?

It's been awhile! It's time for another round of Game Discussion, also known as "How's The Game?"

Here we come together to discuss the game, its plots, the settings, and just about anything we can think of that we'd like to talk about, expand upon, improve, change, etc.

This is not an HMD for players and their characters; this should be about the game's function as a whole and not the people in it. If there is something you feel is absolutely necessary to address that involves a specific person, please IM a mod first to discuss it. We can be reached at terraqueous orb (Kayla), end title (Fudgey) or a great fanfare (Jenn). (Though Jenn is on hiatus right now because her laptop is broken, so Kayla or Fudgey would be best for right now!)

Anonymous will be left off for this round (see first section).

As much as the vitriol on the anon memes have gotten out of hand, it really is making us come together and work on solutions. Which is... surprising but not unwanted. It was like a slap in the face and being told to wake up, you know?

I like the idea of an IC group but the problem now we're faced with is the turnover rate. How many of these characters would come and go? Unless we would keep files of what they're researching and looking into, that way their work can be kept and still have purpose in game if they're long gone.

Randomly, what happened to Raine Sage's work? She had a lot of notes, IIRC? :s

Well, for one thing, having characters involved in a project might help them from growing stale and disappearing so quickly?

Also, having a wiki page representing character work might be an idea? As well as the longer-lasting characters doing what they can to keep the information constantly flowing and spreading and active, regularly making it available to new people?

It's true but I just can't help but think about a lot of other factors; real life, plots, characters burning out IC, people unable to keep up with this game.

Anarin said below Raine's work was published into a book and left in the library. Is there a wiki page for the library? We can list books and other things that were mentioned in the past in game there. Like the Slenderman stuff, too. :)

I think that's just the problem that faces any IC project/group, isn't it? I don't know if it's enough of a reason not to try setting it up?

And I do think that keeping their files around for sharing is a great idea-- something that I wouldn't have a problem helping out with since I know that Billy and possibly Zuko too would be interested in being part of this group, just not leading it.

I don't think there is a wiki page for the library, but that's not a bad idea as something to have? Especially if it's made very clear that the list is not an exhaustive one, and is only a few of the specific things that have been mentioned as being there. Also, I know Billy received a book similar to that for christmas once... I'm gonna have to go look into that and remind myself exactly what it contained.

Re: Raine! They were all collected and published into a library book, which I got mod approval for in her drop post! Anyone should be able to get a copy from the library--and they're detailed. I would love to see her work get remembered. <3

Awesome! Perhaps I'll have Akihiko take a look at it since he wants to head out to the Dead Zone again.

As a side note, if he does end up going out near the spiders, her Quagsire went off to live in those swamps so he can act as a "guide" if you like. :)
