HOW'S MY DRIVING?

While both praise and critique is welcome, we'd like to remind you that this is a valuable tool for many of our members. We'd like to request that all comments remain constructive.

While the staff highly encourages everyone to participate, only comment if you are capable of giving and taking potentially harsh concrit in a mature, level-headed manner. Assume good faith at all times. Crit is meant to be resolved, not "won". Give mutual respect for each other's work and ideas. Aggressiveness creates unproductive stress and conflict. If you are emotionally compromised, you are not fit to captain the Starship Enterprise need to step back, take a break, and then return when you're ready.

Anonymous commenting is ENABLED. Anonymity doesn't detract from the validity of concrit. An anonymous compliment is a compliment; an anonymous crit is still a crit. However, if you are going to post anonymously, consider it your obligation to follow up –– it is frustrating for muns to never get a reply back, and HMD should be first and foremost an ongoing discussion.

We have provided a form to post with, if you would like to use it. Mentioning things like canon points, permanent losses and recent major events in their lives in Paradisa may help give people a better idea of the character's mindset and current actions.

You know I support your drop decisions, no matter what, and that I love you to pieces, but I felt like I should put it up here anyway. You've had a tough time, lately, I know, but ... you're still getting out here and making an effort to fix poor beleaguered Billy, and Zuko's turned around nicely.

Actually, I disagree regarding Max, I think she's been too involved. In canon, Max is more the reluctant hero than anything else. She goes on missions because Logan asks her to in exchange for information on her sibs, and later because transgenics were involved, or children. I've been working on getting Sam more involved in major events, but the plots are so involved and move so quickly here that I'm sorry if I don't have the time to do every single one. I'd burn out. I do what I can with the time that I have and I don't think that I should have to drop a character that I enjoy playing simply because he can't go be a big damn hero in every single plot.

And I never said that Sam wasn't angry about Dean coming and going, or the losses. The last time Dean went home, Sam picked a fight with Isis and got himself killed. With regards to Jo running away, he was upset by that, but not enough that he was going to run around punching walls. He knows that death and resurrection is a lot to deal with. He's not just some mindless angry automaton. I think he's a bit more evolved than that, even on the show. In the later seasons, it manifests more in recklessness than outright anger, so perhaps this is just a difference in the viewing of characterization.

But as I said, I will canon review and work on getting more regular CR for him in the future.

We've had a few Deans come and go during my time here, so I was a little reluctant to tag him, at first ("Oh, another Popular On LJ Character, here we go"), especially since I've only seen a couple episodes of his canon.

However! Honestly, all things considered, I think you're doing great from what I've seen so far, in terms of building your CR with everyone, not just canonmates. This is refreshing and SUPER-exciting, and I look forward to having Ray here get to know him better.

If you need any help getting settled with Para in general, btw, you can always, always feel free to contact me. I'll lend a hand however I can.

Actually, honest love-crit, right here: I am in AWE that you stuck with DW's thread fixing the Gosmoduck suit right up until the end of it, considering how horribly I was lagging for a while. You are a threading TROOPER, and I love you for this, forever and ever.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. However, that's not the case. A lot of the time when there's a string of default icons, it's because I'm tagging from my e-mail as a means of time management. I don't have a lot of time to actually play during the day -- I have a job that doesn't allow me to tag from work -- so at night I only have a limited amount of playing time. I want to keep as many threads moving as possible, and if I logged in and tagged for each and every tag I had, it would take me all night.

I do value all the CR that I have, and try tag everything at least once a night to keep those threads moving which is why I do things this way. Also, on occasion I don't have an accurate icon for my character's mood/expression, or one that is even close. I will pay more attention to this in the future, however, either through including more detail in my tags for you to play off of, or making more of an effort to select the proper icon.

I loved that thread with Clu and Kevin in the post-Slenderman party. I've always pictured him as a misaligned puppy who just wants to please his owner, so Clu drinking beer because it meant attention from Kevin despite having very obvious misgivings about drinking something unfamiliar made me smile. :)

You've been through A LOT of crap OOCly lately, and ... in spite of that, you've still remained a wonderful player. I think it bears saying that you're CONSTANTLY conscious of how you're doing, and you don't just start fretting once HMD rolls around - you're always looking for ways to improve, and things to do. You don't just canon review when someone suggests it, it's a constant process, and you keep in touch with your characters amazingly well.

That being said, you know how I feel about your drops, nudge nudge wink wink squee say no more.

Thanks! It means a lot coming from a castmate. She's had some trauma in her time here, almost getting kidnapped during one of the expeditions... Ozymandias trying to turn her against Rorschach... But she's getting trauma enough seeing her friends get kidnapped and sent home.
