Day 2:
The first thing you'll notice is that the decorations haven't disappeared. In fact, it seems at some point during the night, someone decided to make this a little less kiddie and a little more teenage-creep.
The decorations look more realistic, the dancing skeletons more anatomically correct, they're also a bit more 3D. There are also various zombie-like makeshift-ly made creatures lying about, but be careful! Some of them are motion-sensor activated and they move in some way when you pass.
The halls are a bit drafty and if you happen to look up to the ceiling, you'll notice that the edges are a bit dark, as if the castle's lighting can't quite reach it. The floors seems a bit creaky too, you can't take five or six steps without it making some sort of protest and you'd better watch that step too! Some spots will trigger trap doors, which drop you harmlessly onto super-soft mattresses. Don't worry though, you're not trapped! There's a set of stairs to the side which'll lead you right back to the floor you were on! Though...when did that door get there in the first place?
The Front Hall is much the same as the floors. The decorations seem more realistic, and the long buffet table in the kitchen? Seems to have been replaced with a set a of coffins (though if you take a closer look, it is in fact still a table. The food, though still obviously fake, has a bit more of a macabre feel to it. Ladyfingers look a bit more like ladies fingers and so on.
Outside looks a bit more realistic as well. Gone are the Styrofoam tombstones with their cheesy one-line phrases, instead are more realistic looking plastic tombstones, with a bit more dark humor printed on them. It seems someone's even put out a fog machine! For the graveyard's got a bit of the stuff floating around. It's not a very good amount though. Hardly worth the acknowledge, really. The Spider on the one side looks a bit more well put together too! It seems someone went and looked up what one actually looks like and then went out and created a huge plastic model of a black widow, with a fishnet web to match!
The maze behind the castle? Well, it's a bit more difficult to get through now! It'd probably be best for you to take that map from the box at the beginning and the crayon, because otherwise be prepared to get lost for at least an hour in it! The more-realistic decorations thing also applies here.
Does anyone remember the Music Room? With the lovely piano in it? WELL The castle's seen fit to turn that baby into an absolutely massive organ! And give the entire room a dark, hooded tint to it. (Seriously, there are drapes and dark clothes everywhere. Phantom of the Opera? Look at your virtual mirror.)
The entire exterior of the castle has also taken it's fear-factor up a notch. Things might actually seem a bit scary now, though again, the it's-still-a-bit-obviously-fake rule still applies.
All in all NOTHING looks too real. All it should look like is that the castle learned the residents are five-year-olds and decided to age the whole place up to teen-approved level.
TL;DR
→ The decorations have gotten an upgrade! To teen-approval level of scary. They are still on the walls of the halls and the front hall.
→ The Buffet Table appears to be held up by a set of tables which look like fake coffins!
→ The food itself seems a bit less innocent and a bit more dark, but still delicious and completely safe to eat!
→ There are trap doors in the floors! They plop you down onto some super-soft mattresses and there's a staircase off to the side that'll lead you right back up to your last spot!
→ Outside the Styrofoam tombstones have been replaced with plastic ones! There is also a fog machine. The Spider on the other side is now made out of plastic and the web of fishing line!
→ The maze is a bit more difficult to get through and you might actually want to take the map that's offered at the beginning, otherwise there's a high likelihood of you getting lost for at least a little while. More realistic decorations rule applies here as well!
→ The Music Room now has a giant organ inside and looks like the Phantom of the Opera's dream home.
→ EVERYTHING STILL LOOKS PRETTY FAKE. NOTHING SHOULD LOOK TOO SUSPICIOUS.
