buy harry potter books
Day 1:
The Castle's decided to take getting into the Halloween Spirit up a notch! Unfortunately, it didn't quite get the message that the vast majority of us are older than five, so the cheese? It's not only melted, it's burned.
The Front Hall's decorated for a really big party, there's games (bobbing for apples, haunted maze) and cheap (but lovingly bought!) decorations lining the walls, and various halloween-themed treats on a long table in the kitchen.
Inside and on every floor, the cheesy decorations continue, though some floors have a bit of a theme to them. Glowing, anatomically incorrect skeletons dance across the walls and there are even a few coffins lying haphazardly about!
Outside it's decorated like a graveyard complete with Styrofoam tombstones (with various, humorous phrases like "Nagged to Death" scrawled on them) as well as little rubber rats and bats lying about. Off to one side is a giant spider (made out of trashbags) and stretched cotton lying about as if to make a web. The front steps are lined with jack-o-lanterns, all carved out in cute faces and shapes.
Behind the castle, there's a huge, haystack maze! Complete with cheesy, cheap decorations, and a box of maps with crayons so you can find your way through the maze easily! Isn't that nice?
Even the ghosts seem to have found themselves with a new-found vigor. They seem a bit more peppy and cheerful, and most have a bit more of an innocent, childish lilt to them. (Think Casper and you'll be close!)
You all know and love the Sunshine Room, right? Sorry guys! It seems someone decided to take the "sunshine" out of the Sunshine room! It's completely black inside, but hey, that's okay! Flashlights and other electronic devices still work fine! Who wants a bonfire on the beach while it's midday everywhere else?
As for the exterior of the castle? Well, it's taken the words castle and Halloween to astronomically cheesey levels. Anything and everything you think would be creepy? Either so numerous it's too overdone to be scary, or just...childish. The new sets of Gargoyles on the towers and roofs? (Aside from our lovely cast) They're smiling or sticking their tongues out at you. Nothing even remotely scary.
All in all, it looks like a few sets of parents set up a cute little party for the neighborhood children and everything looks safe and tame, even erring on the side of really, really lame.
TL;DR
→ The castle (halls and Front Hall) is decorated like a group of parents did it for their five year old kids.
→ The buffet table has a bunch of sweets that look both delicious and cheesy as well.
→ Outside has a graveyard to one side of the castle with Styrofoam tombstones and fake animals, and a giant spider with a cotton web to the other side.
→ Behind the castle is an easy, cute, haystack maze.
→ Sunshine Room blackout. Harmless.
→ The ghosts seem very cheerful! And helpful. Be nice to them!
