Mineas Well + A bonus event!

The main log for the expedition has been posted, HERE.

As usual, this is free for backtagging. The major things the expedition will have discovered is that, perhaps unsurprisingly, Flora and Goldfleck appear to be long gone, the tree itself is dead or dormant, and she had maps that indicated the location of the remaining castles.

There may be more to discover as things are played out, but feel free to ask questions here!

The expedition group itself will officiall return on the 22nd.

Secondly, while the expedition group is gone, the castle will get a visitor.

A single ghostly turkey.

It will wander around the castle starting today and won't disappear until Thanksgiving Day. Note that is completely peaceful, if not a bit noisy, unless you eat any turkey. It will chase anyone that does, though it can't actually hurt you. The ghost turkey is free to be NPC'd at your leisure.

Reminders and Mineas Well

Two things, Paradisans!

First, a reminder about our AC policy. Paradisa, as of now, officially operates on Eastern Standard Time. Please take care, especially in regards to last minute posts, that your posts or comments are actually dated before the end of the AC period. Furthermore, the AC period is from the first of a given month to the last day of that month. All posts and comments must be dated during this window.

A poll regarding a potential change of game timezone will go up next month, but in the meantime, observance of this policy is appreciated.

Secondly, the Mineas Well expedition is official underway as of today. There will only be ONE official log for this event posted near the middle of the trip, somewhere around November 17th. If you would like to post any traveling/camping logs or posts during that time, you are more than welcome to do so. Additionally, the paradisabeyond comm was created for expeditions like this, but was done so with the mindset that expedition logs would distract from activity from those not participating. I feel this is not a factor at this juncture, so the paradisabeyond community will not be utilized for this plot.

[Expedition] Time to go!

Everyone's done the repairs, got the horses, and after all the preparation we're finally off!

The expedition will last 6 days. A post should be forthcoming 4-5 PM EST each day. Characters will spend half of today, all of tomorrow, and half of the day after traveling, and will arrive in Winchester and Fairfield on 9/3 sometime in the afternoon. They will then start heading home on 9/4, around noon, and finally return home on the evening of the sixth. This will be the last ooc post for the expedition!

[Expedition] Some... animal difficulties

Everybody good? Ready to go?

If only things were that easy, huh? Unfortunately, it looks like California's found her way to the stabling/pasture area for the horses, and as a result a good number of mounts have taken off. Those more inclined to take the steam-powered vehicles may find they're running into some technical difficulties. Is it a conspiracy, or just bad luck?

Who knows. But the party's not going to make it very far (or at least, not very fast) without their mounts. As of the ic post, they will be dispersed throughout the area around the castle. The mounts are very tame-- or... er, most of them are, at least-- so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting them once you find them. Unless, of course, they're spooked after getting riled up by a dinosaur. Might be a good idea to bring some sugar cubes along.

Feel free to go mount-hunting on the ic post, or make your own posts/logs to round up the critters! All or the majority of mounts should be found by Saturday afternoon. The problems to the vehicles are minor, so they should be done by then as well!

And on another note, I apologize that this is going up so late! Don't worry, the next expedition posts will be made much earlier from now on.

It's time for a

Yep, as many of you are well aware, it's expedition time! This time the characters will be headed for the twin cities Winchester/Fairfield in response to a mysterious distress call over the radio. Looks like the insect men might be back. Think they'll be up for a tea party?

The post to rally everyone together for the expedition will be up shortly, and will be linked here. This expedition will run from 9/1 (this coming Monday) to 9/6 (Thursday). The cities are luckily very close, so travel should only take a couple of days, meaning they will arrive by the third, hang around for a couple of days to make sure everything's okay, and then head home the morning of the fifth, whereupon they will return late the next day.

I, Rui, will be primarily leading this expedition with help from Knight (though she is involved more heavily icly and isn't in the know like I am!). TF will be doing her modly things and also be doing the NPCing for this expedition, yay!

I know this is going up late, darlings, but it's only the schedule. As mentioned previously, if you'd like to jump in, there is still time to retcon your character in. It is open to all character types, but given the scenario (seeking information on the mass kidnappings) this is a business expedition, rather than a pleasure exploration, though it'll play with both.

Hey... where was Fern in all this?

And with this post, Spiders is pretty much wrapped up! We had a few unexpected changes, and a few unexpected plot twists (what, people wanted to STAY in the forest?) but overall, I think it went off smoothly :) I believe there's a party coming up, too, so keep an eye out for that.

Thank you to everyone who participated; you made this a blast, and watching the keysmashing and fun in chat was a riot. Thank you to everyone who organized things for us without even being asked –– Yuff, Nita, Jesse, and so on. You all made this plot go so well.

EXPEDITION PLOT: POST BATTLE GROUPS

Okay so in the BIG EPIC BATTLE, many people were injured (not Allen!) and Kanda got killed (but he'll get better). And because of the amount of injuries, Raine Sage has decided to make a quick trip back to Group 3/the Castle with the wounded, the dead guy and anyone who decides to go back with her in order to help the wounded and that dead guy. They are leaving RIGHT after the battle and they should meet up with Group Three at the edge of the forest on SUNDAY AFTERNOON and be back at the castle probably late Sunday night/Monday morning.

Meanwhile Jr. wishes to stick around the area after the battle, go back slower and continue exploring the area. This group will be looking at some things, like the tank before heading back to the castle at a later date. This group shall be returning to the castle MONDAY OR TUESDAY OR WHENEVER THEY DECIDE TO GO BACK. WHO KNOWS REALLY.

ETA: ALSO there will be a third group of slackers who will camp out overnight, and then leave in the morning because they are like fuck you guys I'm going home. They have leader yet but just put down "I'M GOING HOME" group. They should be getting back to the castle sometime during Monday depending on how much they slack.

YOU ARE FREE TO DECIDE WHICH GROUP YOUR CHARACTER WILL RETURN WITH, though the characters that have been wounded with are more than likely being sent back to Raine's party unless the injuries were super minor. ALSO KEEP IN MIND that Raine's group will NEED uninjured people to help with the wounded and getting them back, so feel free to sign your character up for that even if they are uninjured or not a doctor.

Please for each character that is on the expedition, fill out this information so we can organize and keep track of things accordingly.
