HOW'S THE GAME?
It's time for another round of Game Discussion, also known as
HOW'S THE GAME?
In this edition of How's The Game, we want to focus primarily on a pretty major topic.
Paradisa has changed quite a bit over the years. Once a rapidly paced game, we've slowed down a great deal. Many of you may recall the days in which we had well over 300 characters! We now sit at less than a third of our highest character count, but the game has continued on steadily now for over 7 years; that's a long time.
We have a few options before us that we'd like you to consider:
A) We can continue the game as normal, however we'd need people who have the time and drive to devote to keeping the game running in a moderator position. Applications would open for moderator and helper positions.
It has been quite a ride running the game, but for a few of us it's nearing time we turned in our badges. In order to keep the game running, we are going to need some fresh faces to come on board to take the reigns.
In the event that we cannot find new moderators, we would need to choose between the next two options:
B) We can close the game and give it a proper endgame/wrap up, allowing characters to have closure. This would not be an immediate close, as we would allow time for players to return for endgame and to allow for characters in the game to wrap up any storylines.
C) We can convert Paradisa to a musebox setting. Membership would be open for whoever would like to play, but there would be no plots. It would be entirely free-form. Moderator(s) would intervene only in the event that someone needs to be banned for spamming/trolling.
Before we make any decisions, we want to gauge the playerbase on how they feel about the current state of Paradisa. We are open to any questions or comments you may have, and would love to hear what you think.
As always, you are also more than welcome to bring up any other topics that you might like to discuss. This is not an HMD for players and their characters; this should be about the game's function as a whole and not the people in it. If there is something you feel is absolutely necessary to address that involves a specific person, please IM a mod first to discuss it.
