Paradisa Instrumental FST: The FST Strikes Back
Gather 'round ladies and gents!
A long time ago in a this very game...actually it was four years ago...a bunch of muns, including the gone-but-not-forgotten Yuff, compiled an instrumental fan soundtrack for the characters of Paradisa using instrumental pieces that were not their official canonical themes. It was a huge hit and started what is now a biennial tradition (or at least that's what I'm trying to continue). With that I introduce the Paradisa Instrumental FST: The FST Strikes Back! But I need you - you beautiful, wonderful players of Paradisa - to put it together.
How can you help? By digging up instrumental pieces that you think fit your character or another character! The guidelines are as followed:
1) The piece must be instrumental. No lyrics (of ANY language made up or real), no singing lyrics, nothing. At the very most I will allow a song with one or two words and/or whistling OR singing that is literally "ooooo" in which the voice is used as an instrument - that's it. You can pick songs that have lyrics but it must be an instrumental form of that song that gets submitted. Beyond that, any genre of music is allowed.
2) NO CANON THEME SONGS. If we wanted canon theme songs, we can go download the soundtracks and it would take very little thought. We want thought put into this, we want to hear new music! So no official theme songs for characters and please avoid other songs from their canon if possible.
3) You can submit as many songs as you want, but only ONE song PER character. I know very well there's a LOT of music that can represent a character, but please limit it to one for this FST! If you wish to submit songs you think would be great for other characters not played by yours, go on ahead!
4) Characters who were on the previous soundtrack can submit new songs! Times change, themes change- sometimes you find something better! Go wild guys!
5) This round you may also submit soundtracks to represent plots, locations and groups of characters! So if you feel you found a song that doesn't fit a character but PERFECTLY fit a plot or a cast or an in-game ship - feel free to submit them! Please note, however, that these will only be used if there are enough of these to build an album.
If you need examples, the listing of the last FST's tracks (including, I believe, still active download links), can be found here. I also have a copy of the first FST if there is enough interest, and can upload and share that upon request
If you have a submission, either contact me, Rebecca, on plurk at
calidragon, PM this account, or submit to the post here.
Feel free to use this post to ask questions or start brainstorming or looking for suggestions for your characters (wait for sections on that please). I will keep submissions open until the end of the month or so, or until I get enough. Please bear with me and my slight tech-dumbness. In addition, the original idea and format crediting goes to Yuff, who has given me her blessing on this endeavor.
