A power based on faith can only be brought down by shattering that faith, certainly a Machiavellian concept, but it may just be the option with the fewest casualties. We wouldn't want to be slaughtering the hapless sheep along with the wolf, do we?

On Nov. 15, the entire city will gather in the town square again for another spectacle: an ordeal by fire. Fra Savonarola has agreed to Niccolo Machiavelli's challenge to walk through flames and prove the truth of his preachings, but it seems the weather (perhaps divine intervention?) has another agenda entirely. The IC mingle post is up.
