Lost World Plot Planning Post!
It's time once again for a dinosaur plot! Some of you might have been around for the Jurassic Park plot, well, it seems InGen aren't quite finished with you yet!
Characters arrive on Isla Sorna "Site B", an island where the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park were bred for the Super Fun Happy park characters visited a few years ago. Since then, the dinosaurs have been roaming free, no fences, no lysine problems, just wild animals. Giant, terrifying wild animals.
Characters will be split into two teams for this plot. There will be no offical sign ups, as the teams will not be permanent: there will be a point in the plot where both teams mingle and split off into two separate teams again - creating lots of varying CR opportunities! Players can either choose what team they join, or they can ask us to randomise them. The teams will be:
TEAM HARDING
They will learn they have been sent by John Hammond to observe the dinosaurs in their natural habit, to prove that they can exist there and need to be left alone. The team will be headed by the NPC Sarah Harding (
awholenewbook) an animal behaviourist and daughter of the chief vet of Jurassic Park. They will sleep in TRAILERS - five to a trailer. They will have limited weapons, after all, they're not here to kill anything.
TEAM TEMBO
They will learn they have been sent by the new head of InGen, Hammond's nephew. They are there to capture the animals for a zoo in San Diego, because obviously that's a fantastic idea. The team will be headed by the NPC Roland Tembo(
collectmyfee) a big game hunter. They will stay in TENTS - four to a tent. They will have plenty of weapons and vehicles, and the camp will be surrounded with caged dinosaurs.
If you wish to opt out of this plot completely, there will be a cruise ship about a mile from the island. There will be no plot posts for this option, but players are more than welcome to make their own.
Much like the previous Jurassic Park plot, players are welcome to NPC the dinosaurs as much as they like. The mods will be using the dinosaurs as well (especially during key plot points), but you guys have a lot of freedom over what the dinosaurs do as well!
Also following the previous plot, there will be no deaths for this plot aside from a few NPCs, to give people more time to recover after the last slew of deaths. Injuries are more than welcome, however!

FAQ
Will characters be with or without powers this plot?
They will start off without powers, and powers will be returned to them during the course of the plot. AT A SECRET POINT OF SECRECY.
Direwolves. Yes/no/make them wolf-dog mix/cupcakes?
Nope, sorry, no pets/direwolves/etc. Tis not fair to those who start off with no powers. They can totally be roaming about the cruise ship and get involved in the finale, however!
Will the objectives of the teams remain the same after theteams meet up, and will it be the characters' choice as to which team to go with at that point?
They will indeed remain mostly the same (obviously the desire to get through it all ALIVE will become a major priority for both) and it's completely up to the characters which team they join when they split.
Robutts/AI type characters ... do they stay in their normal bodies or do they get flesh and blood type bodies for this?
Totally up to you on this one! Obviously anything extra to the robot's body wouldn't work, lasers and the like, it would be stripped down to basic functions.
Can the captured dinosaurs on Team Tembo be freed?
They can indeed! In fact, it will become a plot point fairly early on in the plot - around day two. But players are welcome to let loose one or two before the NPCs catch them :3
Could new characters be introduced during this plot?
Sure, they'd appear in whatever team the player would like them to be in.
Would any of the characters' memories be altered during this event? Or is that up to the muns?
No. It's not a returning character plot, character memories will remain intact like any other plot.
Just a little unclear, do the characters get to actively choose IC which team they're on in the beginning, or is it chosen for them?
It's chosen for them. They'll wake up in their respective camps.
