+1 Character (and a New Player)

Hello all! I'm Katie and I'm new here at Paradisa. This is only my second really serious rp and the first one where I play an established character. Please be gentle with me.

Anyway enough about me. I'm bringing you one idiotic fop, a man concerned only with fashion and his wife. If you see some glimmer of intelligence in his eyes, well it's probably a trick of the light.

A mysterious man calling himself the Scarlet Pimpernel may be lurking around Paradisa here soon, possibly wearing several disguises.

I bring you Sir Percival Blakeney; Baronet from the 1982 version of the Scarlet Pimpernel. But please just call him Percy.

If you have any questions or advise don't hesitate to contact me!

Hopefully I will have my first post up soon.

Is he a dedicated follower of fashion? ^_-

Welcome, Katie! I'm ar, and I play Icheb from Star Trek: Voyager (this account!) and Gideon Thraxios from the Doctrine of Labyrinths books (who is [personal profile] thraxios!). I hope you have a lovely time here. ♥

I think so, too. XD I never actually put it together until I saw your username, but a foppish fashionable man running around 1960s London sounds like a pretty great AU.

I WILL BE HONEST WITH YOU they are filed under "trashy fun" in my library. >> The author is a fascinating woman (and a wonderful live speaker--very knowledgeable, very personable), but she started the books when she was 19. And it shows, especially in the form of all the slash fodder and rape and melodrama and terrible plotting. They aren't bad by any means, but they're not High Literature (or even Medium High Literature). Which means that I always have to give a somewhat checkered recommendation, lol, because I am a little embarrassed of them even as I enjoy them. Definitely read them if the summaries grab you! But don't expect anything near to Orczy, I guess is what I'm saying.

(Also, I'm really sorry that I have so many feelings about them, omg. Sarah Monette's work is a constant topic of conversation in my household--mostly due to my roommate, who plays another character from the books here--so it's tl;dr ahoy whenever she comes up, lol.)
