Nothin' but a song.

Hi, everyone! Ang here. You might've noticed over the course of today that several residents spent their day randomly bursting into song! This was an attempt at the return of an old Paradisa April Fools' Tradition. Sure, it's true that previous years had a lot more numbers ... but this one's still going.

If it's not quite midnight in your timezone yet, never fear. You've still got a few hours to get those lyrics up and out! In the spirit of the day and the tradition, though, please keep backdating to a minimum. The castle giveth musical inclination, and the castle taketh away.

There was no Big Finish this year for a number of reasons: time constraints, coordination, and as my guru Yuff so eloquently put it, "because last year's Big Song wasn't even in English". We still had someone do it, though (go Val)! I spread everything through word of mouth, like the first couple of years had been, and all things considered, it seems to have done pretty well. As of right now, midnight EST, we have 24 song posts!

For those of you who remember previous years, an album IS being put together! Mei has volunteered to be my helper with that end of the project. If you posted a song and are feeling gracious enough to share it with her, her contact info can be found on Pixy Foulke's journal over here.

Any of the methods listed in this journal and Pixy's are fine! E-mail might be the best if you can since it'd get to me faster than over a messenger. Only thing I ask through the email method is possibly putting it in a zip file with a random name or renaming the base mp3 file as 'preview' or something. Parents are all paranoid about downloading lately.

'course, if a messenger would be easier for you, I can try to get on at a decent hour and... not sleep in my chair all day and night again. orz

Yep! Sort of like the concept of "image songs" in anime, or the musical episode of Buffy where they're all cursed to sing out what they've been bottling up.

It was the same for me. I had a feeling there were castle-related shenanigans at work, so I decided to have Evan take part in it, because it's a fun, silly little event that doesn't take a lot of work to take part in.

Thanks! I remember thinking to myself "Evan's a musical sort already, so how could I get him to randomly burst into song?" and the idea of the clicking of his skate's wheels popped into my head. Since the rhythm of Johnny Cash's music has been described as sounding like a train in motion, it made sense to have Evan *doing* something that would involve wheels and motion.

We had a high school plot a couple of years ago ... and a couple of characters from Glee ...

But next time we have a CR meme or a How's The Game, you should definitely suggest it and see how many people are interested. :) Players run a lot of the smaller plots lately, and the mods are always looking for ideas!
