For figuring out what everything does and how, especially if any of these wards/security systems are linked in any way. (It might be helpful to do this by character.)

Clow can probably set up some sort of triggered shield ward - it would have to be triggered, though, because his shield spells are basically impeneterable to any physical or physical-magical attack, which also means, uh, you can't walk through them. They wouldn't block any kind of mind-magic, though, just energy attacks.

I think Felix and Duke were proposing something similar, though the problem becomes how and what would trigger it, at what would happen when it is?

Yeah, true. I was thinking of a manual trigger by whoever's manning the outpost - an on/off switch, basically.

I can't say we had discussed actually having a person on guard. I think it would be best not to count on a person there to do it, since it would create too many problems oocly with figuring out who would be there.

The best you can do there is a remote trigger. Keying it to another ward or sensor (magical or mechanical), that could set it off.

Yeah, that might do it. I'm going to do some canon-review, so I'll keep an eye out to see if any of the Card powers get action-triggered.

Duke's pretty sure he can make it on a "If the ward feels this, it will activate". His problem is that he has to define whatever "this" is. And he can't define mental things.

This is an idea Carolina icly suggested so residents/watch members aren't just relying on one or the other. The Castle might decide to not allow the mechanical sensor randomly or the magical one. It's meant to be a failsafe to try and cover all their bases.

And this is where I'm not terribly helpful by saying Howl can certainly set up defenses, but the book is super-vague about what exactly he does or what form they take. Oops.

He has a lot of raw power, though, so at the very least I can offer to add that. He'll want to help once he's done being dumb about things. :P
