Canon Update~
So Stiles just took a spill down some stairs, courtesy of Peter Parker (thanks, dude).
When he wakes up on September 11, he'll be updated to 2.11. And he's... really not doing well. Not that he'll actually tell anybody. Information below the cut-
2.11 is a difficult place for Stiles to come from. The very beginning of the episodes starts with Stiles talking to the school counselor over recent events. His dad lost his Sheriff's badge and then he earned it back. The teenager who was the kanima's master was drowned. (The Kanima is a weapon of vengeance, the teenager was using said kanima to deal out revenge by way of killing the people who allowed him to almost drown. The Kanima is also Stiles' classmate, Jackson, due to a werewolf bite that didn't quite go as intended.)
In this exchange it's clearly obvious that Stiles is not doing well. He's constantly worried that something potentially awful might happen- he's in a state of hyper vigilance. And the counselor's advice to him is "If you're going through hell, keep going".
And then there is the lacrosse championship game towards the end of the episode. During which, Stiles is finally allowed to play (he's normally a bench warmer). His first few scenes with him on the field were spectacularly horrible, but he eventually found his rhythm and started scoring goals. In fact, he even scored the winning goal. EXCITING.
And then the lights flickered, and Stiles will arrive back in Paradisa.
So: Stiles is not doing very well on a psychological level, but he's masking it. He's accepting of the reality that he and Scott are facing, and is in a pretty pessimistic mood about the supernatural and how likely they are to win this.
On his distinctly less supernatural side of life, his dad stood up and cheered for him, when an episode ago his dad said he didn't trust him. And Lydia showed up to the game and cheered for him. So it's not exactly all bad.
