The Carnival's In Town! (AUG 17-19th, Castlewide/opt-in)

That’s right! The carnival is coming to Paradisa! From August 17th to August 19th the carnival will be parked out in the Castle’s front lawn. At 11am the 17th, the fair will simply be there, with all the bells and whistles attached. So what’s going to be at this carnival, you might ask?

Food
Fried everything, essentially. If your character wants it fried, it can be done. That said, here’s a few examples of what will be around:

-Fried twinkies/Snickers/candy/fruits/veggies/everything
-Hotdogs/Corndogs
-Hamburgers
-Pizza (always a little singed around the edges, kind of cardboardy)
-French fries/chips (but they’ll be called french fries by vendors)
-Funnel cake/elephant ears (variations on fried cake batter - former is in tangles, latter is a big flat piece that looks like an elephant ear)
-Fried chicken
-Corn on the cob
-Ice cream (both regular and, yes, fried)
-Tacos/nachos
-Lemonade (frozen or otherwise, with all kinds of different flavors like strawberry, raspberry, etc.).
-Soda and water

All these will be available all weekend! If you have any questions about an item on the list or if x can be fried, please feel free to ask!

Rides
Taking up most of the space of the lawns will be the rides, with bright lights and obnoxious and sometimes punny names. Wiki links and/or video links are below for those who aren’t immediately familiar with the rides/names of rides. The selection available to Paradisians will be:

-Scrambler (video)
-”Chicken Run” (mini roller coaster in a small oval - has one mild drop at the beginning and a series of very small hills before going to the drop again)
-Ferris Wheel - the one in the Carnival will be tall enough to see a large amount of the Castle grounds (video of on it)
-1001 Nachts (video)
-Gravitron (outside, inside)
-Bumper cars
-Octopus (video)
-Big Slide (picturevideo)
-Fun House (a mechanized “house” with multiple rooms featuring moving parts and other elements to distort the visual/physical, video)

All the rides will be spread around the grounds, with no particular area being a designated “ride area.”

Games
Also spread around the grounds will be various carnival games with prizes along the lines of typical carnival prizes (goldfish in a bag, giant teddy bears/dinosaurs/stuffed animals, slap bracelets, and other small, cheap trinkets). In general, they’re meant to be skill-based games designed to be relatively easy for someone with experience or a lot of beginner’s luck. These include:

-Strong Man (Swing the hammer, ring the bell, win a prize; video)
-Ring Toss (The stand is set up with glass bottles and the player is given five rings to try and get around the bottles. Get all 5 on different bottles and win a prize!)
-Tic Tac Toe (Stand is set up with a small 9x9 box grid and player is given hand-sized bags filled with beans to toss into said box. Get a tic tac toe and win a prize! Note, the boxes are also about handsize, so accuracy is important.)
-Shoot Em Up! (Multiple people. Stand is set up with fake rifles and moving targets. Shoot the targets before your friends and win a prize!)
-Rope Ladder Climb (Stand is set up with a rope ladder that moves and if the player manages to get to the top of the ladder before 30 seconds is up, he/she wins a prize!)

With all of the games above, if a player tries to make violent use of a tool for the game (such as the rifle), said tool will turn into cotton candy. At some point a replacement will be at the stand, via ~magic~.

Monte Carlo
On one corner of the grounds is a large tent with card tables underneath it. Here, there will be card-playing, beer, and altogether set up like a mobile casino. Play some Poker, Blackjack, Texas Hold-Em, or any card game you can think of. Beer will only be sold to those able to drink it legally in their universe/world/country (this is mostly to prevent kids from getting some kind of alcohol poisoning).

Live Music
All weekend, there will be live music of all types and varieties to suit the characters’. Come from the 1800s? No big, the hottest romantic piece of 1809 will be playing right after Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” The only night this won’t occur is Aug 18th, due to the karaoke competition.

Feel free to complain that the music is too loud/too soft/too classical/too modern!

Live Animals
Last of the all-weekend events is the live animal booth. There will be sheep, goats, and other small pettable animals in pens that are somehow unbreakable. Little handfuls of feed will be available to feed the animals. Don’t worry, they’re nice!

Day Specific Events
While there’s a lot going on all weekend, there’s a few small day-specific events also occurring at the carnival!

FRIDAY, AUGUST 17 - RAFFLE
Some residents may find that they’re missing items of theirs late in the evening. Well, the raffle is your chance to get them back! All night, tickets will be sold for 5/casio at a chance to get those items back. At the end of the night, NPCs will announce the big raffle. They’ll list the item, and then draw a ticket out of a basket for who gets it. The more tickets you buy, the larger chance you’ll get to earn back your stuff! Folks can buy tickets even if they aren’t missing items, whether to try and earn back their friends’ things or to just get them for themselves. OOCly, there will be a sign up to have an item “volunteered” for the raffle and the day of the raffle there’ll be a post to sign up for who gets which item at that night’s raffle. SATURDAY, AUGUST 18 - KARAOKE CONTEST
Instead of live music, there’ll be a live karaoke contest! Residents may either sign up or find their name mysteriously on the list! Participants will sing their hearts out to favorites from their universe or something they’ve never heard before (up to the player). Winners are selected by crowd applause so go support your friends as they embarrass themselves horribly on a public stage! OOCly, if your character isn’t likely to sign up for this but you’d like them to participate, sign them up saying so and they’ll be one of the ones who simply find their names on the list. Winners will be figured out OOCly ahead of time. Said winners will also earn a fancy trophy and bragging rights. Current list is here.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 19 - FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA
On the last night of the fair, there’ll be an announced fireworks ~extravaganza~! Accompanied by an orchestral soundtrack, they’ll light up the sky to bring the fair to the close. As soon as the fireworks finish at 10pm, the fair will be open for another hour before simply disappearing.

Extra notes:
-Any prizes earned from the fair will be permanent (i.e. they won’t disappear when the carnival does), so you better learn how to take care of that goldfish.
-Carnies/vendors/ride jockeys will all be ghosts. If characters try to talk to them, they'll respond along the lines of "Enjoy your time at the carnival!"
-There'll be large mingle posts put up every day of the event, but feel free to have your characters post something as well!
-This is obviously opt-in. If your character doesn’t want to have fun, then the Castle won’t make them. :( But they may get magically signed up for the raffle or the karaoke competition!

So in regards to food, about how many of these on a stick foods can be found at the carnival?

Prizes! Assuming the "normal" stuffed animal sorts of prizes, bears or whatever, but could they also be inspired by the worlds that characters come from? Like Zack for example, a stuffed bear wouldn't mean much but a stuffed chocobo would (and I'm sure that would extend to other canons as well, of course).

Description: Includes tiara, necklace, and four horseshoe/slipper things. Tiara and necklace are made of a lustrous black metal while the necklace has an inlaid crescent moon of silver. Shoes are made of silver, and may not be instantly recognizable as such if one is not a pony or has not seen her wear them. Everything is nigh unbreakable and has sparkles an entrancing sheen all on its own. The Moon Princess' constant coefficients, these pieces will make you feel a zetta closer affinity with the night (maybe). Luna will be wanting these back.

There's not a stage except for the raffle and the karaoke contest. Music is just kind of magically produced and there aren't going to really be instruments there. So, I guess if you'd like him to play/sing music, then I'd recommend the karaoke competition below. Sorry!
