And I seem to remember there being a calculation made a while back of how much money LJ would lose if it lost us.

Jesus, I didn't expect to see something like this again.

Last site I was on did the exact same thing; completely re-did the format/style of the site, everyone hated it, nothing done...let's just say it didn't end well for them.

What site was it, out of curiosity? GreatestJournal had some pretty big issues before it went, as I recall, so I wondered if you were talking about them.

No, wasn't GreatestJournal. I've actually never even heard of that before, lol.

Bebo, if you know it. It had a roleplaying community, although it was pretty terrible.

I hadn't heard of that one, no. GJ was an LJ clone that lasted a few years but went down sometime in 05.
