speed dating ] [ FINAL NOTES
I am trying to keep on top of things, so here is the last bit of information about the Speed Dating as the post is now COMPLETELY OPEN and EXTREMELY BACK-TAG friendly for everyone.
1) You can have your character ICly find out about this event here, in Harmony's journal entry.
2) Female Characters are to post up their dating card comment to the log post. You will start your own thread.
3) Male Characters are to REPLY TO ALL of the female dating cards. The way speed dating works is one group (males or females) stay seated and the other group switches seats every seven minutes. Use your dating card as your initial comment.
ETA 3B) Male seeking Male Characters. There were only five that commented to my original post with M/M for their selection, and none of them stated that M/M was their only preference. In order to make things easier and less confusing, I opted to just pair off F to M so that everyone could meet everyone. In order to accommodate the M for M preferences I have added THIS section where Harmony will peel them away from the crowd and introduce them all to each other.
4) If everyone does this, everyone will meet everyone that is there. This is an event to generate CR, so please if you have a male character reply to ALL the female card comments. Make sure to keep checking back on the post, because some female cards have not been posted up yet.
5) Tag until you feel 7 minutes could have passed, then end your date with 'end date' in the subject line of your comments.
6) GET CR.
If you have ANY questions, please - please message me. This post has examples and more information.

it's okay!
I think the easiest thing to do would be for Ianto and any others that are M seeking M to put up a comment with their own card and in the subject line put M for M and still reply to the other females just for CR sake and any other M for M characters can reply to Ianto's card or vice versa depending on who puts one up first.
The issue was that there were only five that replied to my post asking about preferences and none of them were M for M exclusive. Ianto commented saying that Barney was signing them up, but they also stated M for F or M.
I can certainly put up a M for M mixer section in the post itself for all those same sex preferring/curious/bendy/flexible types so that they can meet each other too. I just didn't see anyone exclusively stating they would only be signing up for M for M.
Re: it's okay!
I just think it's a lot more complicated than it needs to be, personally ... but I still think it was a great idea for CR and I'll make it work. ;)

It was the first time that I was trying this and there are definitely some kinks in the system, but as I do with all my events and plots, I learn from the previous mistakes and try to improve it. If Harmony does continue to do these events bi-monthly, I'll probably ensure that they are more geared toward preferences vs a giant event of trying to catch everything and they'll probably be mixers vs speed dating.
I just wanted to pull away from the auctions, since it didn't seem to open up new CR as much as it should have and some characters were left with no one replying or bidding on them.

If I do this again or moving forward I might be doing them soley based on preferences so this space won't be needed.

The symbols are just an empty box or a check box. They aren't really going to make any difference right now since all of the main pairing sections are going to be Females looking for Males and vice/versa.
I am going to be putting up a "mixer" section for M seeking M since they were the only non-hetero pairing scenario that had come up.
So if you have a girl, reply to the main post. If you have a guy, reply to the girls.

As I said, the sign-ups for the event didn't spread as wide as I offered.
