BE OUR GUEST

DEC 18th-28th

Continuing such memorable trips as New York ‘08 and L.A ‘10, Paradisa is giving it’s residents a real slice of life, this time in Paris!

Residents will wake up in Paris, France, in the year 2011, either as humans, or if you wish for your animal/robot/whatever not be human, as an animal or...tamagotchi or something (looking at you Delta). If neither of these options appeal, you may put your character on a loss for the remainder of the plot. But no powers, everyone is on the same level ground here.

Characters will have regular Parisian lives, going to work, going to school, being bums or struggling artists. Maybe some doctors can work in the same hospital, or some kids go to the same school. Feel free to plot away to your heart’s content, planning your characters Parisian lives for the plot. This is a fab time to cultivate yourself some wonderful new CR, after all!

As we’re in a foreign city~ there is an obvious language barrier problem. You can get through this by either Paradisa suddenly making it so your character magically KNOWS FRENCH, or you can have your character not know the language and struggle living in a city where everything might as well be written and spoken in Martian. It’s all up to you!

Also, if you guys have any handy Parisian links, feel free to add them!' We’ll add them to this post as they come in!

Of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

HMM well Aradia will probably be going to school, being a kid and all. I gather from a quick Google search that French schools don't have uniforms, so YAY TEN DAYS OF NEW OUTFITS FKSLJDKFLA;DKFLJ /dies

Mmkay anyway I am giving her the ability to MAGICALLY KNOW FRENCH because I think the idea of her spouting French like a native speaker is just too cute. She will be happy to translate for anyone unfortunate enough to have to deal with the language barrier. And possibly mess with them a little.

Questions:
- Will all kids go to the same school or couple of schools?
- Do kids without parents present get fakey fake parents, or do they fend for themselves? Or do they live with other residents?
- Do all residents have lodging already, like people around them think they've always lived there/recently moved in or something?
- In Paris is it socially acceptable to eat insects you find on the ground

Also wiki article on French education. I'm too lazy to read it atm but the grade level chart is a useful reference at least, for figuring out who goes to what type of school.

Typically, in previous plots, we have had children go to like, private schools or public schools or what have you. I am not sure how French education works, but theer you have it. Typically, it's easiest to have eevryone to go oen or two schools, and CR is usually garnered between students and teachers and such. Whatever works!

Residents can go either way, if you'd like-- though personally I would recommend branching out and getting new CR with someone who is living alone and asking whether or not an adult/older character can be their foster parent. Again, whatever works for you, though I like pushing for branching out myself.

Typically, residents wake up in whatever housing you have OOCly chosen for them. In the NY plot, I had a character wake up in a posh loft with the other character she was plotted into sharing a room with, and fulfilled her assignment of being her assistant or what have you. Whatever housing you like is fine!
