LEAVES... and a plot!

All good things must come to an end, and that includes Paradisa's perfect summer season. A brand new month is on the horizon, and it's time for a change. A change in season... and a change in Paradisa.

On October 2nd, the beautiful leaves covering Paradisa's trees will begin to slowly fall. And fall. And fall. In fact, they're going to continue falling. There are going to be leaves everywhere.

Leaves will literally cover the castle grounds, forcing residents to either wade through the mess or grab a rake and make paths. Did you just rake that clearing over there? Guess what? MORE LEAVES! It will be a sea of brown and red and yellow leaves as far as the eye can see. Since when did Paradisa's trees have so many leaves? It doesn't matter, because there they are and there they will remain for the rest of the season.

Rake them, make leaf forts, have leaf fights! Because for three days you will be stuck outside of the castle with them.

Also beginning October 2nd at midnight, residents will find that they are suddenly outside, and locked outside of the castle with no way back in. The doors will be sealed tight with no way to open or force your way back in. Windows are suddenly made of indestructable glass you can't really see through very well. Why is this happening?

The castle is being rennovated! For three days, it will be shifting and moving, rearranging rooms and furniture alike. When it's finished, the castle doors will open and the new floor map will be introduced.

But until then? Looks like you're stuck outside with the leaves. It might be time to look for another place to stay. Maybe construct a leaf shelter...

There is one exception to the rule. The basement and prisons are not being renovated, which is bad news for anyone being held in prison. Sorry, guys, but you're still locked up for the duration of this plot. The ghosts will make sure that you get your meal times until the castle doors reopen. ;)

To summarize, leaves will continue to fall all throughout the autumn season, and residents will be locked outside of the castle from October 2nd - 4th. The doors will reopen on the 5th and the brand new floor layout for the castle will be introduced.

I have a question about this regarding Neal's loss? His loss is that he can't leave the castle without the appropriate escort -- but since the castle is forcing him out, I was wondering if there was an appropriate way to modify this without waving it away entirely?

He could be attached to someone for those three days, or trapped in the inn, maybe?

That's affirmative. Though I'm not sure if anyone would want to be! If they do find themselves stranded for whatever reason, they will be unable to leave the basement.
