That makes perfect sense! And that's exactly why I'm personally glad there will be IC discussion period, because I know there will be characters (hell, mine is one of them) who will not agree with it and will want them gone, and it'll create an interesting discussion.

But actually, I think the point is that this small group DID take it into their own hands -- ICly, it's difficult to get any kind of agreement or organization from all of the residents, or a verdict on what's to happen to the prisoners (who are in jail because of stuff they did almost three months ago, now, and two of them have dropped and left) and there's been some IC concern about letting the prisoners "rot" in jail, etc etc., hence the attempt at action from the few. (hopefully that makes sense, I just woke up sob)
