Hey guys, I'm back and with a very healthy dog who is getting pretty acclimated to her new home. Pics under the cut (didn't want to clog any F-Lists).

So Violet is back. We'll just say she was avoiding people for a few days, trying to busy herself with new technology which is essentially stuffing her emotions.


So I adopted a 4/5 year old German Shepherd mix from the SPCA. Her name is Eva and she's a rescue dog. She was attacked a few months ago and had to have reconstructive surgery on her face/ ear. Most of the fur is all grown back, but she has a floppy ear that is the cutest.

Oh my god what a cutie. :( And what... the hell... attacked? I'm afraid to ask if it was another animal or a person...

We're not sure, to be honest. She was very neglected when she came in - malnurished and the like. They do think it was an animal because of the way her ear tore and the scratched around her neck, but she had her tail broken and her hip was out. So who knows.

But she's doing much better now.

I'm glad and so happy you adopted her. I hold a strong belief that if someone wants a pet they should adopt from a shelter. Especially dogs and cats... pet stores... fffff. :(

We've had a mix, but all of our purebreeds were from owners who couldn't have them any more for whatever reason. Never bought from a pet store or a breeder.

I don't know how it is everywhere else but here in Quebec we are... puppy mill capital. 8| The law is way too lenient in regards to animals so many, many dogs (and lots of cats) are mistreated and left in horrible conditions or sold to pet stores later on.

And since it was just July 1st... I'm guessing animals up in the hundreds were abandoned today just in this city alone. Cats often the most abandoned ones here. It's awful. :(

I live in the States. We'd like to think we're doing something about it, but it's still pretty bad. And trust me, I have a lot feelings about animals, too. Especially neglected or abused animals. The SPCA commercial makes me cry.

Yeah, people here have been trying to help the situation but there's so many cases we don't know about. UGH, animals commercials kill me. Especially ones about neglect or abuse. /clings to kitties and guinea pig. I'd be pissed if someone ever hurt them.

The dog that I grew up with, as well as my beautiful four-legged little girl, are both shelter dogs. This is something I feel very strongly about, too. :/

Hee. I'm up to the third one, but discovered that however I kind of maybe illegally downloaded, my nook does not want to display it properly. So I'm gonna have to read-do that one or read it on the computer.

Oh no! It gets really good around six and seven. Around eight or nine, read the Unauthorized Biography. And then at the end, read the Beatrice Letters.

I messed up the title. It's an Unauthorized Autobiography. Of Lemony Snicket, yes. It's a little confusing, but it mainly has to do with something you haven'tlearned about, yet. But when you read the book and realize the entire thing is like one giant analogy, it's just genius.
