HOW'S THE GAME?

It's been awhile! It's time for another round of Game Discussion, also known as "How's The Game?"

Here we come together to discuss the game, its plots, the settings, and just about anything we can think of that we'd like to talk about, expand upon, improve, change, etc.

This is not an HMD for players and their characters; this should be about the game's function as a whole and not the people in it. If there is something you feel is absolutely necessary to address that involves a specific person, please IM a mod first to discuss it. We can be reached at terraqueous orb (Kayla), end title (Fudgey) or a great fanfare (Jenn). (Though Jenn is on hiatus right now because her laptop is broken, so Kayla or Fudgey would be best for right now!)

Anonymous will be left off for this round (see first section).

In regards to #2, where is it people are having problems with sex in Paradisa? We have sexually active characters like Rory/Amy, Faye/Crowley, Ino/Leroy, Clark/Lois (??? OKAY I'M SURE THEY ARE) and we've had in the past Donna/Kyle, just off the top of my head. So I'm confused as to where exactly people suddenly have issues with sexually active characters unless I missed something.

As for casual sex, I don't know. I don't know if it's not happening because of fear of backlash or other reasons like players aren't invested in it or their characters aren't.

I didn't mean to say people have a problem with those characters having sex, but that I just I recall seeing complaints a few times when sex logs were posted in the comm, even though they had warnings and the like, or whenever sexual situations were mentioned in OOC comms when referencing losses/events. I can't remember the exact comments made since it was awhile ago.

That is... odd. :|a First I'm hearing of it but I don't see the problem with two people consenting and having sex. If there are warnings and it's locked, I'm not sure why people would complain.

idk either? I wish I could remember links and such but...yeah. There wasn't any HUGE wank over it that I can recall, just tiny arguments/disagreements here and there. I don't remember if it was on an OOC post, or on anoncomm, or what.

I think a lot of it might stem from Livejournal randomly deleting a bunch of everyone's stuff back in ... 2007? I'm not sure exactly, but I know a LOOOOT of people got very paranoid and started banning sex logs from games even if under a cut and posted with a warning where they still have the option to read it, because the mentality was all that it would take is one disgruntled player or parent reporting the game as posting that type of thing when minors had access. Also, many games started requiring players to be of age/requiring birthdays be made visible so even if a minor was lying to say they were older, it would be because they deceived the moderators etc. I'm not sure if it's such a huge issue now but it's one reason I could think of as to why people would be uncomfortable with this type of thing in a game where minors are present.

That's very possible, in which case I do understand. I do remember when all that was going on, even people getting their accounts deleted due to ICONS of all things.
