dreams of sugarplums dancing in their heads
Today, residents will be able to spend all day inside the Candyland paradise they've found beyond the door. We'll make another post soon for further frolicking and whatnot.
But eating so much sugar has its downside, and that is a sugar crash. Residents will be feeling a bit sleepy tonight, so find a good pile of coconut snow to curl up in, or perhaps a gingerbread house with a licorice hammock?
Whatever the case, you'd better hope you're comfortable, because you're going to be there awhile.
On the night of Christmas Eve, residents have dreams. Dreams about home... about Christmas morning, spent however would make them happiest. If that's at their tiny apartment with a space heater, a tree, and a cup of hot chocolate -- then that's exactly where they'll be. If it's out on the streets of New York mowing down pedestrians in a beat up pick-up, it can be that, too! The point is to make this HOME-- the Christmas morning in the place that most resonates as home to your character.
Other people can jump into these dreams! You can have your own and say that your character dream-hopped afterwards, or simply say they only dream-hopped without having one of their own if you prefer. Characters can remember their Para CR in these dreams and realize it's just a dream if they want -- or they can be totally oblivious and be like, -- WTF, why is Tony Stark in my living room? Note no one comes away from these dreams with anything more than memories -- no injuries or physical objects obtained carry over.
NPCs in the dream (mom, dad? significant other?) are controlled by the dreamer. If certain NPC's are taken characters, players can collaborate together and create a joint dream or have separates.
The dreams must be about the world they're from, but can be unrealistic - eg, dead people are alive again, or in locations that were destroyed in canon (a burnt family mansion can be fine and dandy for example). Typical dream stuff.
Dropped characters can make cameos in others dreams! (
When everyone wakes up, they'll be back in their rooms in the REAL castle, and have a gift from home waiting for them. ♥ Bonus if the gift was present in the dream in some way - either a gift they got under the tree Christmas morning or given to them by someone else.
Please use this post to plan any and all dreams, dreamhopping and cameos you'd like to play out.
Also, all gifts from home must be no bigger than an average sized motorcycle, and nothing too powerful either. We're going for something small and sentimental here.
What if my character doesn't eat/sleep?
They will still fall asleep anyways. Their powers have been removed when they came in the clockwork castle so if something catastrophic normally happens when they sleep, you don't have to worry about it.
What if my character doesn't dream?
You can either force them to have a dream anyways, or you can have them just hop around in others dreams without having any of their own.
What if my character is currently a toy?
They can still have a dream! They will just be de-toyed and instantly fall asleep. Characters may also remain toys and not participate in the event if you don't have time. :)
What if I can't get a hold of the player of the dropped character I want to cameo in my dream?
They can still be NPC'd briefly if you really want them to appear. Especially if the character is someone within your own character's canon. It would be in a similar vein to having the character "see" someone like that during a castle illusion.
