We want to see what people want for plots in the future, and what better clear way to do it than poll?

For the first five questions, please order each option between 1 and 5, with 1 being your favourite and 5 being your least favourite.

If you need to change any of your answers or make a mistake, click here and select "fill out poll." It'll let you re-take it and replace your old answers.

Please comment with any questions, concerns, requests, discussion, etc. Once we've got results from this, we'll start going through all the plots submitted and line them up based on what type of plot people want most. Thank you!

thissss

[identity profile] darkevangel.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
I got the scaling right, though I also had a tough time between fandom/non-fandom.

Though I think fandom's more fun when it's something like Pokemon or Jurassic Park... something (at least relatively) well-known and not anybody's home world.

[identity profile] orgrimmar.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
I agree with this completely. I like keeping things away from the awkward of being recognized by a great number of characters, and that's what's more important to me in the long run.

New York was my favorite plot, and yeah, that's a few people's homes and considerably the most well-known city on the planet, but the thing that made it work was the fact that it's just... BROAD enough to have all those crazy shenanigans to make sense.

[identity profile] attaining.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
I HONESTLY ...didn't really know what to put since I don't base things on "type" at all, but the plot itself. There are some in a type I liked a lot and others not so much. SO IDK IF MY ANSWERS ARE HELPFUL AT ALL KDHG

I like fandom stuff that is NOT someone's home world.

[identity profile] follows-rules.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Now for something more helpful.

In the time I've been here, we've done a lot of plots I really enjoyed. As to fandom verses non-fandom, I like both pretty well though I have to say Dead Space was one of my favorites. Not because I knew the fandom at ALL but because I was with a great group of RPers. And I think that's what made Jurassaic Park fun for a lot of people, too.

yeah i totally filled this out wrong

/Is smug.

I like fandom and non fandom equally so I just eeny meeny'd it.

[identity profile] billiardsplz.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I think plots should be random so that the characters don't know when to expect one.

[identity profile] percepts.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
This.

The fact that characters can tell newcomers: "Oh, and we normally have a big world change/big event every two months" is sort of... eh.

So can I be weird and say lets combine a few into one plot? Like, combine something like character exploration with a world change that has an element or horror or an invasion thrown in. It'd take a lot of creative effort, but I've seen it done before and it's fun when you can pull off something like that.

[identity profile] charmandsmiles.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 06:01 am (UTC)(link)

I'm really glad you asked about the "when" thing. For a while there we were having them bam bam bam one on top of the other and it was really exhausting to try and keep up.
