Going Once, Going Twice.... Auction!
All right!
So, the Auction will be starting up in a few days and I figured it was time to get some of the stickier details out of the way. For those who didn't see it before, this is the schedule:
Friday, July 2 - Monday, July 5: Sign ups IC (and the second IC sign up) and OOCLY
Tuesday, July 6 (Probably sometime in the morning about 8 or 9AM US CENTRAL TIME): Auction post goes up for BACHELORS ONLY to comment in
Wednesday, July 7: Auction opens to all Paradisa for bidding!
Saturday, July 9 (approximately 11:59 PM US CENTRAL TIME): Auction closes!
Sunday, July 10: Results announced at large to the castle
Okay, so I know a lot of people are wondering how exactly the auction is going to go down. Well, here's the handy-dandy guide.
Tuesday, July 6, the Auction Post will go up. HOWEVER, only Bachelors will be posting a tag at the initial throw up of the Auction Post. This is to allow all Bachelors to get their tags in before bidding begins and gives everyone a fairer chance to get bid on during the same amount of time. If a Bachelor cannot get their tag up in the 24 hour period, it's fine, they can post it whenever they can get to it, but it is highly encouraged that they try! In game, this day will sort of been seen as final touches and practice for the Bachelors.
Bachelors: When you post your initial tag, you must HAVE YOUR NAME IN THE SUBJECT LINE. This is very important! It's the only thing required of you when you tag, so please, please do it. It will make keeping track of bids much, much easier. Bachelors can talk back, but remember you're up there to look pretty and get bid on, so no scaring away bids ;) (Though this won't stop several of you from being sassy and/or scary anyways, lol). Also, if you like, you can put something about what you're wearing, how you're feeling, or even something an MC might say in the text portion of your tag. Have fun with it!
Wednesday, July 7 - Saturday, July 9: The Auction opens to all peoples in Paradisa for bidding! Of course that brings up the question on how bidding works!
Bidding: All bids will be tags DIRECTLY TO THE BACHELOR'S INITIAL TAG. You must keep the Bachelor's name in the subject line. That way, since my notifs will not be off, I can correctly sort bids to correct folders as they come in and monitor the auction. This also ensures that bids do not get lost in sub-threads and that the actual, correct winner is determined on the night of the auction closing!
Sub-threads: Sub-threading is allowed, but YOU MAY NOT BID IN A SUB-THREAD. CR is awesome and wonderful and highly encouraged as people respond in awe or snicker or whatever to other people bidding. Even Bachelor's can respond and throw you hate looks or little hearts or smarmy comments. But as I said, do not bid in a sub-thread. There is a chance the bid will get 'lost' in the other bids and such if more than two people battle it out for one person, thus why all bids are responses to a Bachelor's tag.
Saturday, July 9 (at 11:59 pm US Central Time) : Auction closes! No more bids! I will go through the auction post and find out who has the highest bid on a bachelor. There will be a post/announcement that the auction has closed!
Sunday, July 10: The results of the Auction will be announced! They will be the castle at large, but it also for muns to find out who won their Bachelor and vice-versa!
And if you are worried about finding your bachelor, don't worry! The other reason for having Bachelor's tag early is so I can have the list of Bachelor's and link each name to their threads. That means no scrolling for anyone and makes it easy to jump back to the thread you were at if you have to leave for short time.
On another note: etiquette. It shouldn't be an issue cause you all are wonderful, but if someone wants to win a bachelor like their eternal future happiness depends on it - please let them. Drag out the bidding for a bit, then have your character back down. It's just the polite thing to do and if there is an issue, you can always refer back to the original OOC sign up and find the other mun's contact and talk to them that way. But characters should also give visual cues that this is what they want as well - don't just expect other muns to know if you keep putting down numbers for a bid and that's it. Work together everyone to make this a fun experience!
