Monsieur Reyer is now back! His loss is still the ability to read music, which will still piss him off mightily.

For those not in the know, Reyer comes from Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage version of The Phantom of the Opera, and I present him as played by David DeWitt on the U.S. Tour from 2000 to 2007. Currently he is playing Javert with Vermont's Northern Stage and FUCK I WANT TO SEE THAT He's the repetiteur or chorus master of the Opera Populaire in Paris and he doesn't like you.

I am sadly nowhere near as familiar with individual stage actors as I wish I was, living on the west coast and not having the money to attend the really expensive theaters, but that man in your icon playing Javert? That sounds made of win.

The man in my icon is, in fact David DeWitt as Reyer. Someone was nice enough to make me some screencaps of some, ah, recordings. :D :D :D Also I live in southern Alabama which probably makes the west coast seem like a theatrical utopia, but I've also made it a habit in recent years of going to see the Phantom tour whenever it's within a reasonable driving distance. Tampa was probably cutting it close. But my husband loves me. <3

Eeee~ so awesome. Yeah, when I'm actually in a job where I make enough money, I'm going to save up and go to musicals whenever I can. There's a theater in Seattle, but the tickets are way expensive, at least on my budget.

My husband has a good job--thankfully--so it can be in our budget to go see Phantom at least once a year if the tour is close by. Imagining what our prospects might be if *I* had an actual job too makes me drool. But yeah, that shit's expensive, isn't it? When we were in Tampa we were talking to one of the Phantom actors I've known for several years and he asked if we were coming back the next night, and I said "I wish" and he replied "Yeah, it's expensive, isn't it?" No wonder so many people substitute the movie for the stage show. Which they shouldn't do, but anyway.
