Important Post and Discussion Opportunity
re: HMD, hostility and anonymous

At first this was going to be another mod post written from the sometimes-distant "we" that makes up the mod team, but I had a change of heart when I began to write it. Instead, I am posting this as a personal appeal, written as a mun, as a mod, and most importantly, as someone who loves this game through good or bad. Both Fudgey and Kayla have given their blessings and support on this, and we all feel it needs to be said like this, not sugar-coated, with complete honesty. I think it should be read by everyone, regardless of whether or not you feel you have contributed to either issue or not.

This is not about blaming anyone, or pointing fingers. It is just something that I think we all need to consider. I want everyone to evaluate their own behaviour, and their own behaviour alone.

So, before I digress too much:

On Monday, two things happened.

On being welcoming, friendly, and open. )

On HMD and critique. )

This post is open to discussion on both issues, however, the standard rule applies:

a) This is not about any specific individual. Any comment speaking about or on the behalf of another will be summarily screened and frozen. Everyone speaks for themselves here.

b) Common courtesy applies. Hostility, name-calling and accusations will not be tolerated. Remember the rabbits.

Hello!

I am Amy, the new Haruhi-mun. This is my first character in Paradisa, and I am most definitely looking forward to getting to know you guys. This game looks like fun, and hopefully I'll have as good of a time as I think I will. ♥

So, hello everybody, I'm the new Simon Dark player, and you can call me SIR Seth. If you don't know Simon Dark is, don't worry, it just means you're like everyone else. Not nearly enough people know about the awesome stitched-up, quasi-undead superhero with 20 18 souls in him, savin' Gotham from creepy occult stuff, and I strongly recommend buying up his whole series. It's only 18 issues long, so it's not nearly as expensive as you'd think (though it's also out in 3 TPBs by now). DON'T BE CHEAP, POOZERS.

Anyway, I hope to have lots of RP related fun, even if I have to drag some people into logs kicking and screaming and maybe rocking back and forth in the fetal position yeah that first part.

I'm currently enrolled at Northern Arizona University in a double major program for history and secondary education, planning to pursue that multimillion dollar career path as a public high school history teacher. I'm a collector of military surplus, especially firearms, though my collection isn't limited to just that. At the moment, it contains:

-1903 Springfield Rifle (the World War I model, not its more famous sniping brother from WWII)

-1909 Argentine Mauser

-1948A Yugoslavian Mauser

-Enfield Mk.3 Rifle

-A US, WWII era infantry helmet

-Four WWII civilian ration booklets

-A 1942 Willys Overland MB jeep that I'm currently rebuilding with my grandpa.

I tend to also love discussing history and history related trivia, especially military history, so, feel free to ask me for any nerd-tastic icebreakers you might need.

You know those times when you go to RP but you just feel down and have no heart to do it?

...Yeah.

I'll be gone for a little while so I can get my voices back. And I will be back, don't worry! Hope I won't miss any awesome plots while I'm gone. D:

This will effect Newton Pulsifer and Nikola Tesla.

Stay awesome, Paradisa. :D

Salut! My name is Valerie, but I believe you already have one of those here.  So for the purposes of not confusing anybody, feel free to call me Ivy.  You're welcome to harass me (aka let me harass you) on AIM @ TousLesLilas at any time.  That's probably the best way to get ahold of me or shoot a pm at me on my personal LJ [livejournal.com profile] griffith.

Not sure how much you care to know about me... but I'm a 23-year-old biologist living in Missouri (sob), and only slightly obsessed with Japanese fashion.

The character I'm dragging into Paradisa is Elizabeth Kane, identical twin sister of your resident Goddamn Batwoman Kate Kane.  (However even Kate didn't recognize her own twin, so it probably won't be obvious.)  She's better known as the villain Alice... and by better known I mean she's only been in 6 issues of Detective Comics so don't feel bad if you have no clue who she is.

Beth was kidnapped along with her sister and mother twenty years ago in Brussels where only Kate was rescued, their mother was shot through the head, and Beth went missing/was assumed dead.  She's taken on the identity Mistress Alice, the High Madame of a cult known as the Religion of Crime and somewhat gimmicky villain that speaks only in Lewis Carrol quotes (it's a fun challenge) and likes to commit murder.  I'm taking her from right after she revealed to Kate that she was Beth, stabbed Batwoman in the arm, and fell from an airplane into the ocean below.  Her loss is her ability to kill people, which is sad for a villain whose religion is based on murder and probably a relief for everyone else.  But I'll try to find some trouble for her to get up to!

So uh, hello!  I hope to get to know you all <3
