FAIRY TALE PLOT DETAILS

On May 1st, close pairs of residents will wake up to find themselves 1) together, 2) in strange fairy tale outfits they can't change out of.

There just seems to be one odd ball catch.

The pairs are all rather "unconventional" for fairy tales. Either it's two girls or two boys... or the boy is the Princess and the girl is the Prince.



Premise
Like said, this plot will involve a reversal of roles for male and female pairs. Males are Princesses, females are Princes. Same sex pairs are also welcome, of course. Their roles will correspond to one of four popular fairy tales:

Snow White
Sleeping Beauty
Rapunzel
The Little Mermaid

(Note: there is an unlimited set of sign up slots available, save for the Mermaid role. These are just the roles characters will end up emulating- there will be multiples of each type!)

At the end of the first day though, all of the Princesses (save for the Mermaids) will be put into a deep sleep and be taken away to a brand new castle tower by a Wicked Witch. The Mermaid characters will become mute humans but will also eventually succumb to the deep sleep. It will be up to the Princes to save them by going on a quest to create something called The Golden Egg.


What kind of plot is this?
This is a plot designed to deepen pre-existing CR while also creating new CR! Pairs should definitely be people with pre-existing CR who care for one another in some way. They do not have to be romantic; friends, familial relationships, etc. are all acceptable. The rule of thumb is, if it's someone your character would do anything to save or be reunited with (barring goody-good characters who would save anyone ever) then it'll work! For example, let's take Colette and Adachi. Neither has any romantic feelings for each other, but they're good friends so they qualify. On that note, if we had a Dojima, his and Adachi's relationship would also count.

The new CR comes from teaming up with your fellow princes/princesses! Teaming up and working together is highly advised! You will be spending more time in general with people in the same role than with your partner.

If you don't have a partner, don't worry! There's another way to get involved...


So how exactly are the Princes going to create this "Golden Egg"? What's the "quest"?
Don't worry, you won't have to fight any dragons or anything! (Although I can't guarantee no big bad wolves.)
The Witch will give the Princes a list of items they need to find in order to create the Golden Egg. These items can be acquired by helping fairy tale'd residents with their problems.

The list will become available on the second day of the plot. Till now, it's a secret!


Wait, hold up! Fairy tale'd residents?
That's right! This is the other way to get involved with the plot. Similar to how residents were put into a trance by the castle during the Pirate plot to believe they had been Navy officers their entire lives, a handful of residents will believe they really are their respective fairy tale character. There will be more details on this on the upcoming sign up post (people will be chosen on availability, NOT first come first serve).


Sooo what about the Princesses? Are they useless/out cold for the whole event?
Definitely not! The Princesses will find themselves all together in a dream world labyrinth that they need to find their way through by answering riddles and questions. They will be guided by a "good fairy" npc and will discover information that can aid their Princes. They will be able to contact the outside world for a limited amount of time. Their bodies however will be locked away in a newly appeared tower in the castle.


What's the deal with the Mermaids? Why do they get to stay awake longer?
To follow the story of the Little Mermaid of course! and it's my personal favorite fairy tale ssshhhh The Little Mermaid is a bit of an oddball in this line up, seeing as it's not a Grimm Fairy Tale. Don't worry though, they won't have it easy. They will not only be mute, but any attempts to communicate through written text will result in gibberish and it'll hurt like a bitch for them to walk on their new feet. They will also go into a deep sleep as well, when their time is up.

Due to the nature of this role though, there will be a LIMIT on it.


So what can our characters wear/does my guy have to wear a dress?
Well wearing a dress would be pretty damn funny huh? do it do it do it But what your characters wear is entirely up to you! You don't have to make them wear Disney outfits or anything like that, it's all your choice. You can even make your "Princess" wear pants and your "Prince" a cute short skirt with her cape. There's just two main guidelines to follow; Princess outfits should be lavish while Prince outfits should be practical, for the most part. So don't worry if you still want to participate but crossdressing is not your thing: the important part is the character's roles and the reversal of said roles!


What if our characters try to change clothes?
They can take the clothes off but... any other clothes will just repel off them. So yeah. Unless you wanna go naked? Put it back on.


Who's the Witch? What's the Golden Egg?
HEY MAN THOSE ARE SPOILERS!!! All will be revealed in due time! I will say though that your witch has a rather vulgar, insulting tongue and she won't hesitate to berate people...


TIMELINE
This plot will run from May 1st to May 5th

1st Day: everyone wakes up in their new outfits with their partners. A fluff day. At night, the Princesses will fall asleep and the Mermaids will become humans.
2nd Day: The Witch will make her announcement, the Princes will start their quest. The Princesses will awaken in the dream world.
3rd Day: The Princes' quest continues.
4th Day: the last items will be obtained and the Golden Egg will be created. The Mermaids will join the other Princesses at the end of the day.
5th Day: Showdown with the Witch!

The day after everything will be back to normal!

Nah, it was just going to be covered in tomorrow's post (and also I was still deciding on some last minute things sdjkvshdjk) BUT I CAN GIVE YOU AN ANSWER RIGHT NOW. :D

Powers and special abilities will for the most part be gone; they will be useless in the dreamworld for the Princesses, and they'll be sealed for the Princes until the showdown with the Witch where they will be given back their powers by that Good Fairy npc mentioned.

Until that part of the plot though, the Princes WILL receive a special ability that they can use to help them instead. These will correlate to which Prince they are and will be outlined in tomorrow's sign up post!

Because now I have an idea for it, but I'm glad I didn't figure it out yet.

Hmm... I suppose that would be fine. The castle just like starts doing a bunch of fairy tale things to people haha. I'd just ask that people don't play around in a way that can mess with the plot's, well... plot or progression LOL but I don't see how that would, so that could be fine!

Toph's a princess, and she's blind. Part of her abilities involve using her earthbending to feel vibrations in the earth to "see". That would be gone as well, correct? I am totally fine with whatever, I just wanted to make sure.

For the most part yes!

If you want to take them away completely you can but since hers also help her "see" you could also just diminish them so that she can only use it to feel the vibration. That'll be up to you. :)

I believe I might be a bit late for this. I haven't been able to get on the last few days.

I would like to throw Harry into this but... he hasn't got many close people he has had CR with... it would be great but I simply don't know who to throw him together with.

He has had some CR with Moriarty and Connor MacManus before... also with my timezone and all... it might prove too difficult.

He mostly care about himself as well... I really don't know about this.

Can someone help me get my head around this?

You could sign him up as a NPC/Fairy Tale'd Resident? This part of the plot was pretty much designed to give people who'd have difficulty getting involved a way to still get involved!

Otherwise, maybe talk to some of the people he does have CR with? A few other people are disregarding the close cr part... he'd be better off as a princess than a prince though if he mostly only cares about himself.
