All of the above comments. I even check noncastmate posts. It helps me get a quick feel of what sort of style and genres a player likes to do, so I'm not blindly slamming into their open log with something they might not enjoy. Instead of playing 20 questions via awkward PMs, I can just skim their past stuff and save us both time.
