It's time for another round of Game Discussion, also known as

HOW'S THE GAME?

Here we come together to discuss the game, its plots, the settings, and just about anything we can think of that we'd like to talk about, expand upon, improve, change, etc.

This is not an HMD for players and their characters; this should be about the game's function as a whole and not the people in it. If there is something you feel is absolutely necessary to address that involves a specific person, please IM a mod first to discuss it. First of all: I love the idea of just revamping game info entirely, and I wouldn't mind a change in the city's atmosphere. That said, I'm not sure how I feel about a more modern setting. I kinda like the fantasy feel the quasi-Renaissance setting gives us; if the city does change, I think I would prefer something more off-the-wall than the 90s. If people would like something more modern, how about a magitech setting similar to some of the later Final Fantasy games?

I honestly don't know how I feel about it, either. I just suggested 90s because it a) avoids some of the more pervasive stuff of the 2000s such as cell phone usage and whatnot yet b) is recognizable enough that there's no need to define what, exactly, magitech is and entails and encompasses.

My other suggestion is Stepford.

...I was going to mention that I wasn't sure how well a fifties suburb would go with a giant medieval castle, but then I remembered Cinderella's castle at Disney World. And Disney even has its own creepy Stepford town

But seriously, I see your point, but I do still have some concerns about the atmosphere. If it's tied into a larger plot, though, it could be interesting. Like the castle taking people's desires for more modern conveniences the wrong way, or something like that.

Man, I love Celebration. I've stayed there. It's a beautiful place, though yes, very eerie. Also, if you're going 2000s remake Stepford, then the "all your dreams answered" shit jives.

And yeah, I'm saying plot. (If this stood a chance at happening, that is.) Definitely not a retcon.
