I think it would be very useful for keeping up with CR and dropping quick and dirty messages to other characters. Though, if you're worried about it making the comms a ghost town, maybe there can be a rule where only [X] amount of inbox threads are eligible for AC? That way, people wouldn't become too reliant on them, and would encourage them to stick primarily to posts.
