Shiki's first loss? Shiki's first loss!
Remember how I started making plans for Shiki to have a Reaper's Game loss?
Well, it took me much, much longer than I'm proud of, but I'm finally mostly done with plans for the loss!

What IS Shiki's loss, anyway?
I'm putting Shiki back into the Reaper's Game... kind of. Instead of Shibuya, she'll be in the Paradisa Underground! She will wake up in the lobby, get a mission on her phone, and she'll have to play the Game. The fun part is that no one else can see her (except for Reapers when they eventually come into the picture) so she's literally fighting for her life, and no one can tell.
The major modifications that I'm making from The World Ends With You to Paradisa is that there will not be a Partner or a GM,* so the missions will be coming from the castle.

What can I do to help out?
Just like the Reaper's Game in TWEWY, there will be several super fun things about the Reaper's Game here! More specifically, there will be people who will make it harder for Shiki to complete her missions, and people who help her out a little, or are generally neutral. Those are divided into Reapers and Players.
Reapers are antagonists. Not the big bads, but... say that Shiki has to leave the castle for some reason? A Reaper can throw up an invisible wall that won't let her pass (although normal people can walk through just fine) and not take it down until she completes some smaller challenge. Like I said - not worse than the Game itself, but they sure do make her playing harder. And far more interesting.
Players won't actually also be in the Reaper's Game with her, so they won't be a Player like she will be. That being said... want to play a game with Shiki? How about Tin Pin, or Reaper Creaper? Or hell, even just any other kind of game! If you find Shiki in the right place and you want to play, well, she sure could use the distraction.
If you want to be either one of those things, that's excellent! Just comment and let me know which one you want to be, or that you want to be something but you don't care what, and I'll set you up with a day and everything!
What if I want to do MORE?
Then you are certainly an impressive individual. It would mean more planning, but there IS the opportunity to be either her Partner, or the Game Master. We'd have to plan out what the missions for each day of the week would look like together in advance, but it can certainly be done, and could absolutely be a ton of fun! This one is absolutely optional, though, and I don't really NEED either a Partner or a GM to do the loss. But, if you want to do it, I'm more than open to the idea~

The Reaper's Game is what happens after you die. You are given a chance to literally fight to come back to life. You team up with a Partner, and together you solve and beat missions, and if you can make it through the entire week, then you get to come back to life. Very few people make it through the Game to come back at the end... but hey, it's a chance, isn't it?

What else do I have to know?
I'm probably going to do this plot at some point in August. I'd originally hoped to do it earlier, but I am getting all of the stupid hours at work, and that's not going to get better at any point within the next few weeks.
I might make one day in the Game last two real life days. To explain the other day, Shiki will simply be sleeping every other day or something... but just to give each day at least a little bit of time to play out so I can know some of the consequences before moving on to the next.
For the loss to really work, I want Shiki to live until at least the last day. If she dies on the last day, then... she will have died, and we'll work from there... but I want to get her to the point where it would mean the most. And that's the last day.
I have a basic plan for what each day of the Game will look like. That being said, if you have any suggestions, I'm more than happy to hear them! And if you really want me to, I can post my plan for what each mission will be here beforehand as well.
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Compliments? Please feel free to leave them here! I've never done... well, I've never done an active loss for Shiki at all, let alone one this complicated, and I'd rather work out any bugs that it might have now, instead of during the loss itself!
Finally, I just wanted to apologize for being so slow with my tags recently. Work has been giving me all of the stupid hours, and when I haven't been working, I've been editing my play that's going up this fall, so... super busy everywhere!
...On the bright side, through work I got to see Neil Gaiman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan, and Tom Hardy. I may or may not work at a movie theater, and we may or may not have had the world premiere for The Dark Knight Rises the other day. :D .../couldn't resist
