HOW'S THE GAME?

It's time for another round of Game Discussion, also known as

HOW'S THE GAME?

Here we come together to discuss the game, its plots, the settings, and just about anything we can think of that we'd like to talk about, expand upon, improve, change, etc.

This is not an HMD for players and their characters; this should be about the game's function as a whole and not the people in it. If there is something you feel is absolutely necessary to address that involves a specific person, please IM a mod first to discuss it. We can be reached at valawie (Valerie), fan of todd (TF), or never die ftw (Ashley).

Anonymous will be left off for this round. Sock journals are allowed, but you will have to request comm access to post with them.

Here are the sections that we've come up with. Add your own, and we'll edit it into the list. :)

There is a way of dealing with it though, if a player really wants to. The castle itself can and has broken people out of the prison in the form of putting someone on a loss and dumping them outside the prison in the past. Or hell, it could just move someone out of the prison randomly to keep people guessing a little. Shake things up. As far as I know, the prison isn't castle magic proof.

That plus world changes have had a tendency of not dumping people back into the prison in the past. There are ways to get a character out. (The Meta has gotten out 3 times to date, IIRC.)

Yeah, I think this is just a suggestion for a more legitimate way to allow for escapes, etc. While the castle can and has let people out before, it can get kind of old when it's always "the castle did it", you know? By providing something like a "problem light" like Theresa suggested, it gives hero characters something to actively work on, a cause that they can potentially prevent with work. It's something that's realistically preventable. Whereas the castle doing it sort of creates a sense of hopelessness, because what can any character do to prevent the castle from doing what it does? It's less fun for the heroes that way because they have nothing to really fight back with.

If ... that makes sense ....

this is exactly what i intended, yes :3 "oh the castle did it WELP" can cause apathy really quickly, whereas "goddamn it tony and your dumb machine" channels the frustration toward something constructive.

Makes sense. I'm just saying that really, completely destroying the prison as insinuated in the one comment isn't needed. The prison serves a purpose.

As it is, there's a good guy character that is actually stuck living in the Tardis whenever a specific person isn't in jail, stuck with similar reduced CR opportunities.
