YEP THAT WORKS FOR ME! I PMed Nita last night and told her she's free to have her characters notice and/or post about him not being around and Lavi can react with that too? If anything he probably left a note for Lavi somewhere in the apartment going something like "Sorry but I have to find them, I'll be back. Timcanpy is with me too." OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES before he ran out. B)
