+ 1 perma-loss for Chuck
To those of you familiar with Supernatural canon, you might be curious as to what I'm doing with Chuck after seeing the finale. I have been waiting, to even mention this, until after I saw Rob at the Salute to Supernatural convention, hoping to get at least some sort of solid answer as to what happened to Chuck. Fan interpretation is all over the place, but it doesn't match with what we've seen in canon at all.
After attending the convention I know more than I did before, but the main thing that I took from the event is that Eric Kripke wanted it to be open to fan interpretation. The question of, "Is Chuck God?" as far as I can tell, will not be addressed in canon.
I have followed canon since picking him up, in stating that he is a Prophet, and I will be staying with that. If you'd like a longer explanation as to why, feel free to read the TL;DR version. I have listed there in-canon proof that support's he's a Prophet, notes on Prophets, and a lot of the summary of the events that happened at the convention itself.
In order to keep with my own belief about Chuck's character arc and still address the majority of fan interpretation, I am adding a second permanent loss to Chuck that is retroactive.
Chuck's New Loss is: his ability to Prophesize events, along with any and all knowledge/belief that he is God.
Should I canon update him to post finale in the future, he will return to Paradisa believing that he was going to Ascend into Heaven, not that he was/is/could-be God and was just going back to Heaven.
