Merry Christmas! I'm about to start writing out the post for the White Elephant exchange and I wanted to drop you a comment here with not only a few instructions, but the numbers for the gifts your character will be looking for.
First - Arrivals When everyone arrives at the party Rose will have them put their name into a hat. Everyone will mill about and then when it's time to start swapping gifts, Rose will have everyone draw a name from the hat. This part will be completely implied, because technically everyone is already matched up, and timezones + holidays mean some comments won't go up until tomorrow.
Second - Your Gift Leave a comment with your gift number and character name in the subject line. Technically they drew names, so it's easier if they could call this person by name. The comment should also have ONLY the wrapping description in it. You are only telling people what the box/present itself looks like.
Third - First Swap You have left your comment, so now you need to go look for the person that has your new gift. Find their comment and introduce yourself, take their gift, get some CR, etc. You can keep this gift or...
Fourth - More Swapping Every gift is described in a comment, so feel free to read the other descriptions and see if you'd like to try and trade with someone. Just comment to the person that has the gift now (it should be the first comment to the actual gift description). This way if you want to swap, you can just look to see if someone else is already swapping by looking for the new thread.
Hopefully it won't get too confusing, and if it does, just make a new comment saying "SWAPPING GIFT #23439" in the subject and cut/paste the description.
