How many have you made?

For years the castle has granted nearly every wish and whim that the residents can think of. Big or small, whatever one desires, the castle has spent its own energy on pulling it into Paradisa. When you think about just how many wishes residents make, it translates into a lot of spent energy on the castle's part.

Paradisa has decided that it does not want to meet the same fate Libet faced. It has never asked for payment... but it will now.

On July 14th, residents will find that their wishes will come with a price. What exactly is that price? That depends on the size of the wish.

• Hungry? Wish for a slice of cake, but you might feel a slight headache.
• Need a tool? Feel free to wish for it, but you might forget why needed it at all.
• Want a new bed? A grand piano? Enjoy the sudden lack of energy and oncoming dizzy spell.

Smaller wishes will come with smaller prices. However, the bigger the wish, the bigger the price, and the more impact it has on the person. They might feel physically drained or sick. They may find memories being taken in exchange, or the castle might take personal belongings that were acquired during their stay.

The castle might even demand payment for wishes that have already been granted.


To sum it up, if your character makes a wish on the 14th & 15th, the castle will be taking energy, memories, or belongings from its residents as payment for the wish.


Is there an opt-out?
If your character doesn't wish for anything, they're good! They won't feel any different than any other day.

My character is not the type to wish for things.
And now they probably never will when they see what is happening to everyone that relies on wishing.

My character has only ever wished for one item (big or small) a long time ago. Will Paradisa be demanding payment for this item?
It's up to you! Paradisa might remember that single wish they made and take something in return. But there are a lot of residents, and it could have forgotten about it by now...

But my character needs to wish for [VITAL ITEM REQUIRED TO LIVE/SURVIVE]! Is that going to cost, too?
ALL wishes are going to come at a price, no matter how big or small, and no matter how much they need it.

My character is wishing for/once wished for [ITEM OF X SIZE]. What will the price be?
Use your best judgment! If it's small, it won't cost much. If it's big, it will, etc. Don't cut your character any slack. If they wish for a dozen bears, they're not getting away with a slight headache. ;)

What about the castle ghosts? Can't I just ask them to do me a favor if I can't wish for something?
Paradisa gave the ghosts an all-expenses paid vacation to Hawaii, so they'll be out of service. You're on your own.

ORIGINAL CHARACTERS

In our last How's The Game discussion, we presented the idea of allowing original characters in Paradisa. The response seemed favorable as long as the characters are not based off any preexisting canon, so we would like to present an offical poll on the matter so that we can hear from everyone in the game.

Please keep in mind that this is still in the very early stages. The staff has not yet discussed the details involved in this, such as how the application will look or how they will be judged. We'd like to hear from the entire game before we move forward with this.

This poll is only regarding original characters from original universes. We will not be including any AU versions of canon characters or fan characters/OCs from canon settings.

Hello! My name is Iddy and I'm a new player here, though I was in the game a few years ago back on LJ-- I played Cuddy from House for a while, and also Ursa from Avatar: The Last Airbender for like five seconds. This time I'm bringing in Troo O'Malley, an unruly, fouth-mouthed American Irish Catholic ten-year-old from the book Whistling in the Dark and its sequel, Good Graces. She'll be coming from the veeeery beginning of the second book.

A PSA: because of the nature of her upbringing (small-neighborhood-in-a-big-city girl growing up in the late '50s/early '60s), Troo says and thinks some pretty offensive things from time to time! I have a permissions post for that that I would appreciate people taking a look at-- but as I say there, even if you don't fill the form out, you don't have to worry about me making her say anything even a little awful unless I've asked if you're okay with it OOCly.

Iiii think that's it as far as this OOC intro goes; an IC intro will be up as soon as I can think of something to do for it. Also, feel free to add me on plurk if you want (though I think I already have a few of you from other games; DO ROSE AND SETINE STILL PLAY HERE)! I have an AIM, but I don't get on very often.
