Hi there, I'm Niriall.  In case no one could tell, I'm new around here. I look forward to meeting everyone, and doing horrible terrible things to my character.

And I'm bring this awesome squishy-faced asian guy named Glenn from AMC's The Walking Dead.
His face is totally squishy.

But on a more serious note, Glenn is coming from a world in which the Zombie Apocalypse happened, and he's one of the survivors so far.
So be nice. And, uh, try not to mention people come back after they die here.
His canonpoint is the last episode of season 2, specifically after all the survivors of the attack gather together again.

His loss is that he cant make or use maps. At all. He cant take a bunch of rocks  and and point to give directions, or use a map someone else gave him. He's going to have to keep it all in his head or give verbal directions from now on.

The fastest way to get in touch with me is plurk, where I am using the account name [Bad username or site: Niriall,  @ plurk.com]Which I use for pretty much everything on the internet. I don't really use AIM, sorry.

One last thing before I go- Im in Israel until June, which means weird time zones.

I think that's everything. Again, I look forward to meeting everyone and having fun here.

Welcome one and all to Pokédisa!

Starting April 2nd and lasting until April 7th, residents will be transported to Castelia City to begin their Pokéventure. Whether your character aspires to "catch 'em all" or is just looking for a relaxing getaway, there's plenty to do in the great Unova region!

After a cruise ship saves residents from a dreadful flash flood, the ship will dock at Castelia City, where each resident has hotel reservations in one of the city's luxurious hotels. It seems Paradisa was kind enough to make sure that everyone had a bag or two packed just for the occasion, which will be waiting in their rooms along with something that may or may not be familiar...

What is a Pokémon?

Pokémon are the small creatures that inhabit the Pokémon universe. They contain impressive power, and when a Pokémon is properly trained, they may even grow and evolve into newer forms and learn even greater powers.

These creatures are often seen as friends or allies of humans. Many people will catch and befriend their Pokémon, bringing them along on their journeys or training them to reach their full potential. Some may find that they prefer to keep their Pokémon as a companion or a pet. Regardless of their plans, if treated with kindness, the Pokémon will remain a true friend to their human counterpart.

It's entirely possible to catch more than one Pokémon, with the use of what is called a Pokéball. When thrown at a wild Pokémon, it may capture the creature if the creature does not resist. Trainers often keep up to six Pokémon with them at a time. The Pokéballs house your Pokémon when they are not in battle or training. It's not always necessary to keep your Pokémon inside the Pokéball, but it is quite handy.

What kind of Pokémon can my character have?

Each resident will find their first Pokéball in their hotel room, and inside will be their starter Pokémon. This can be any basic (first evolution/baby) Pokémon so long as it is not a legendary. You may choose your starter from any generation, not just the Black/White generation!

For a complete list of Pokémon, click here!

Some fun things to note!

- Residents may have up to six (6) Pokémon.
- Everyone's starter Pokémon will start off at level 5.
- Pokémon will only evolve through rigorous training, which means you'll have to battle others in order to gain enough levels to evolve your Pokémon.
--- Exceptions to this include those Pokémon that evolve under special circumstances. Try to be reasonable about it, though! Your character shouldn't have six evolved Eevees by day two.
- If a resident already owns a Pokémon in Paradisa, they may start off with it and further its training.
- Residents may catch new Pokémon or trade with friends or NPCs.

Do I really have to battle with my Pokémon?

Not the trainer type? That doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the many other aspects of owning a Pokémon! There is more to Pokémon than simply battling every trainer you see.

Many devote their lives to learning about Pokémon. These researchers or professors often collect as much data as they can from their own travels or from the travels of young trainers. They only wish to better understand the creatures and share that knowlege with the world.

Beauty pageants and contests are quite popular in the Pokéverse. Many will dress their Pokémon up and teach them simple yet impressive moves and enter them in competitions for fabulous prizes.

Others find they may be best suited as caretakers or breeders of Pokémon. Their lives are dedicated to making sure that Pokémon thrive in the world, and receive the best care they can provide. They are most focused on the health and well-being of Pokémon, as well as their happiness.

And again, sometimes people just keep Pokémon as pets! It's entirely up to you what kind of path your character and their Pokémon take.

Will my character keep their Pokémon after the plot?

At the end of the plot, only one Pokémon will follow your resident home.

If a resident obtained any Pokémon prior to the plot start, they will of course keep these Pokémon.

Pokémon will be stripped of their powers upon returning to Paradisa, and remain as pets.

In addition, all currently unclaimed wild Pokémon in Paradisa will return to the Pokéverse to make room for those that will be returning with residents.

What if I or my character have no interest in Pokémon?

If your character truly does not wish to participate in this plot, you are welcome to have them treat this as any other city world change. They do not have to receive a Pokémon, but keep in mind that if they do not receive at least one, a Pokémon will not follow them back to Paradisa.

Below are some key places in the region your character may travel to that do not revolve solely around Pokémon.

Where can my character go in this world?

Residents may travel anywhere within the Unova region. For simplicity's sake, traveling to other regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc) will not be allowed.

There are plenty of places to travel within Unova, which can be found here.

These are a few key locations, but remember they are not limited to these and may travel anywhere in the Unova region:

Castelia City is a bustling metropolis. It's much like any other major city, filled with businesses, cafés, art galleries, and more. Residents will be staying in a luxurious hotel in the city, all expenses paid. They are free to travel to any neighboring town or city from here.

Striaton City is home to the Trainer's school. If Residents wish to further their knowledge on how to train Pokémon, they may find themselves traveling here to learn how to become a better trainer, and the basics of Pokémon and their move types.

Nacrene City is where one will find a museum for historical Pokémon. Should a resident find a fossil, they may also return here to restore that fossil into a Pokémon.

Nimbasa City may be where residents travel for a more leisurely stay. Here one will find more entertainment, such as theaters, stadiums, spas, and amusement parks.

Undella Town is a quiet beach-front vacation spot that residents may travel to if they'd prefer a quieter, more relaxing stay.

Each resident will receive a bike and a good solid pair of running shoes. They are welcome to travel by foot, bike, or public transportation.

My character has super powers/is a non-human. Will these remain for the plot?

Nope! All residents will become de-powered, regular humans for the duration of their stay in the Unova region.

Residents who are animals/objects/AIs can either become human as well, or they can turn into a Pokémon. Keep in mind that if your character turns into a Pokémon, they will not receive a Pokémon, and they will not be able to bring one back with them when they return to Paradisa.

WAIT! Did I just see--

It's entirely possible that some of the Unova citizens may look a bit familiar to some residents. Only time will tell if it really is them, or if it's just someone who looks like them... ;)

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact a mod (Valerie, Ashley, TF) or leave a comment in this post. We will do our best to answer your question in a timely manner.

Hello, I'm Eee.. I just sort of threw Rick the IC Comm and didn't do this.. so Hello! Here I am. With Rick Grimes from the Walking Dead. I'm playing him for the first time at this canon point so we'll see how things go. (This canon point being the end of season 2).

Any way! I'm excited about playing him here.. even if I'm probably going to bow out of the pokemon event since I know absolutely nothing about them, I am OLD..

OH HAI THERE.

This is Wolf, currently playing our resident candy captain, Ukitake, at [personal profile] lifeandpride

Do you know who this guy is? If you don't, you totally need to be watching Once Upon A Time. It's way better than the title sounds, I assure you.

This is Rumplestiltskin. He's just a touch crazy. He's about as far from Ukitake as you can get.

The most important thing to note is that he likes to make deals. His deals tend to be rather dangerous for the other party.

More on deals here. And if you care not for spoilers, here's an example.

He's going to be a challenge to play, since besides making me hate italics in canon he's pretty much an OP big baddie. However, I'll do my best not to step on anybody's toes.

...Looking forward to playing with you, dearies.
